Stopped in on Sunday 1st October 23 for a drink and bite to eat. Service was slow but with it being a Sunday with plenty of locals in this was perhaps to be expected. Eventually our order was taken and we had tempura prawns which were excellent and calamari rings which were not the best. The flavour was there but extremely rubbery. We have definitely had better. Location of the restaurant is stunning and there is a buzzy atmosphere but I would suggest it's somewhere to while away the hours rather than eat and run and whilst we have hardly tried the full menu (which does suit all tastes - including the children) perhaps the food needs to be a little more on point. The croquetas with local cheese were delicious, but the gambas were a miss. Burnt garlic overpowered the (likely frozen) shrimp, and at €20, felt overpriced.
The €41 arroz negro was a further disappointment. Undercooked rice and a scant 5-6 shrimp left the dish lacking in flavor and substance.
Overall, Paralia seems overrated. The food quality and portions don't justify the price point, despite...
