il Fratelli — Restaurant in Dénia

The menu of the day (Sunday 6th January 2020) was not a good experience. The starters: Jajapelnos (pepper ok, but cheese wasn't tasty), the green salad with tunna was good, the sausage in tomato pesto was not good. There were cartilage pieces in the sausage, which made it disgusting. The first plate: The soup OK. Gnocchi in Blu cheese soucewas directly inedible. The gnocchi had a conststence of "melting gum", and the sauce wasn't delicious, almost as if it were just a plain flour-butter sause without any blue cheese. The second plade: the lamp chops were not chewable and was not properly cooked. The pizza was almost exclusively cheese, a few tomatoes and five small pieces of bacon. I would prefer much more accessories in my pizzas. Then it was also served with plenty of onions, although it was ordered "Sensa cipollo" no onions. The red wine, a bottle of Ribera Del Duero, was good. However, there is a discrepancy between preferred red wine temperature. Northern Europeans would prefer red wine served at room temperature, not directly out...

We visit Il Fratelli regularly. So far to full satisfaction. We have also made this known on this medium. But today we felt quite disadvantaged, say ripped off. We ordered two coffees and two tostades with smoked salmon. The bill said the coffee for the normal price. The two tostades were not on the bill (not customary) but noted as one 'other' product. The price was no less than € 14.20 while we normally pay a maximum of about € 4 each for such a tostada. The tostade was also sparsely filled with much too salty and the salmon. Certainly not the quality we are used to. When we spoke to the boss about it, we got a vague story about the fact that the salmon had become very expensive. Strangely enough, one of the starters in the menu of the day was also smoked salmon. And that whole menu costs € 14.40 (including drinks, starter and dessert). Everyone can understand that this has been a huge disappointment for us as regular customers....

I ordered food for takeaway for 8 people. When my Spanish friend went to pay he realised they had added two meals onto the bill we did not order or receive. They changed 4x to 2x but then added 2x again! so the price was 30 euros higher than it should have been! I was very disappointed by this scam. The vegetable paella was ok but undercooked.
