We've been staying at Delta Hotel with birding groups for more than 20 years now, and if we're planning some time in the Ebro Delta then we always try to book in this hotel. However, it's got deservedly popular over the years, so if you're planning a weekend visit you usually have to book quite well in advance. The rooms are probably the weakest part of the hotel, and perhaps could do with some modernising. Mind you, if you have kids and the family room they'll love the adventure of the stairs going up to their bed on the "upper floor"! Nevertheless, cleanliness is good, you have air conditioning and a very comfortable bed with too many pillows. The rest is all strong points: friendly, efficient and helpful staff both at reception and in the bar/restaurant, great food and drink, a fantastic buffet breakfast, a pleasant lounge and dining area, and then for any birder like ourselves the best part of it all is the hotel grounds. Birds I've seen over the years in and around the hotel grounds, with our own Birding In Spain groups and with other tour companies are too many to list, but here's just a few: Little Bittern, Common Kingfisher, Night Heron, Squacco Heron, Penduline Tit, Long-eared Owl, Scops Owl, Audouin's Gull, Glossy Ibis, Wood Warbler, Western Bonelli's Warbler ...

Very clean rooms & hotel. Love the character of the ceilings in the building. The decor and general vibe is amazing, eco-chic. Amazing quality restaurant, loved the presentation & dishes. The liquor for sale is unique, different & very tasty. Pau & Rosanna were especially nice to us. The pool looks fab & relaxing, as are the grounds around the events space. Also the Easter decorations were super cute. Great value for money & location.

Room for improvement: The events space should be accessible to guests as it is arguably the prettiest part of the hotel. It would have been helpful to be assisted in making bookings for tours considering we don't really speak Spanish and there's so much choice. When I asked for food recommendations I was told "this is a small town, there's nothing." Not really true at all. But the staff were all very kind & did try their best to be helpful. The settings on booking.com when making a booking made it seem like it was impossible to check in late at night yet when we arrived, the hotel was wide awake. It stressed me out prior to arrival unnecessarily. Also at time of check out we were rushing to leave & the customers before us were checking in, chatting away forever about Formentara. The receptionist could have hurried them along saying they need to serve the queue forming behind (someone was waiting behind me too) but instead just indulged the first, continuing the conversation. The pool could have been heated, that would have been better of course. VERY loud & inconsiderate, talking guests in the corridor both nights at 2300 or later making it hard to sleep. The rooms are quite bijoux - they appear larger in photos than in reality. Nowhere to hang wet clothes / no view / no balcony and no way of keeping the window shutters open (no hooks). The amenities are good but the lotion when applying It dries very sticky & the dispensers could be higher end looking, Kimberley Clark looks terrible & doesn't suit the otherwise nice decor. Lastly, there was a baby shower held during our stay which meant that both car parks were full thanks to the party attendees. This was quite annoying since we are hotel guests and we had to park out on the street for lack of space, & therefore load our car the next morning with luggage from far. I think it's more fair to make party guests use only 1 car park, not take over & inconvenience the...

This is real Spain !||Remote country location with nothing around but fields...||Easy to find. Free ample parking.||Grounds were clean and looked after.||||Family room with mezzanine beds. Tv, fridge, aircon, large shower, bottled water, extra blankets - Clean and cosy.||||Strong free wifi everywhere in the hotel and most of the grounds. Playground for kids and areas to sit or kick football. ||||Helpful staff and patient with my lack of Spanish. Miming and sign language got a smile most of the time.||I think there was a wedding on the night we arrived. . Oh no I thought. Thumping disco until 3 in the morning. . I was very wrong.. party hall is easily 300 foot from bedrooms in a completely separate building. We didn't hear a thing. ..||||What really won big points was a gentleman called Christian who had very good English. ||The kids needed quick food and the restaurant menu would not suit them.||This gentleman recommended a local pizza café and even rang an order in ahead for me to collect! And checked the location for me on Google maps. ||I really felt looked after. Had to give this man a tip before we departed.||||This is a relaxed place that takes pride in being relaxed. ||Highly recommended for a person who wants to stay...
