Botafumeiro jatetxea — Restaurant in Durango

The bar is decorated very nice and the waitress was very kind and spoke good English. But, the food was terrible sorry to say. We had the menu del dia and we have never eaten so bad, like it was warmed up in the microwave. First course paella, a shame they use the word paella for this, it was just yellow rice, soaked in water and sticky.. I did not dare to eat the few clams and gamba afraid to get sick of it. Main dish chicken and fries both were drowning in fat. The pork ribs were very dry, totally not fresh grilled (they call themselves an ‘asador’?) the whole menu (3 courses) was served within 30 minutes. It looked like there was no real chef in the kitchen, because a passionate cook would never serve this to...

The staff is always angry. You have to wait for being served even if they are in front of you. Be careful with what you ask because they tend to argue for any word you say. First local we're i had to ask in advance for the cash receipt and, when asked for it, they reproach me that I had to ask for it at the beginning... Names of the food were not indicated, and when I asked for them, they answered in an angry way that I should read them instead ask... then they placed the name of the food... They even argue between them in front of you... The food is...

Teníamos una reserva para una mesa de 17 personas, nada más llegar nos encontramos con que nos han separado en dos mesas diferentes y decidimos comentarlo con el dueño (sergio) ya que se nos ha hecho raro, para colmo su pésima respuesta ha sido que él no tiene la obligación de avisar. ¿De verdad es necesario una respuesta de tan mal gusto? ¿Las formas elegidas tienen que ser aceptadas solo por ser el dueño?

Hemos seguido comiendo, aunque la mejor opción hubiese sido levantarnos y marcharnos. La comida ha estado muy buena, aunque con pocas opciones dentro del menú. El problema ha seguido en el momento del postre. Varios de los comensales hemos elegido brazo gitano y al probar sabía a queso mucho, por lo que me he dirigido a la camarera para comentárselo. Efectivamente el producto estaba en mal estado y le hemos pedido que nos lo cambiara. Ha terminado acercándose la dueña a nuestra mesa sin ningún tipo de argumento válido, ya que se contradecía en sus explicaciones. Primero nos dice que todos los cachos de tarta pertenecían al mismo lote y ha terminando reconociendo que eso no era así, ¿porque la necesidad de mentir? A la salida nos hemos acercado a hablar con él para poder aclarar lo sucedido y una vez más hemos recibido una respuesta poco profesional por su parte, desde luego bastante decepcionante.

No volveremos a repetir en este restaurante y es una pena porque la comida estaba buena, pero la actitud de Sergio ha sido lamentable. Desde luego no entiendo como gente con esa actitud puede regentar un negocio! Esperemos que estas cosas...
