K-chopo — Restaurant in el Prat de Llobregat

I had a great time in my first visit at Kchopo. I've found them through their social media, and finally I decided to go - a last minute reservation - before I left for Christmas. The place is quite cozy, there is enough table it looks like you are step in to a nice and simple restaurant... All the staff is very very welcoming and you feel like you are around friends.

For the most important thing - the food is incredible, everything was really delicious, I ate even more than I wanted just because I couldn't stop it.

The portion size were more than I expected, based on other Barcelona experiences, so a nice and delicious amount of food were served to us.

Big thumbs up for the quality of the ingredients, you can taste that everything is top-quality and the flavour is incredible.

I hope to visit again! Great...

Una experiencia agridulce

Después de escuchar durante meses a un amigo hablar maravillas de K-Chopo —que si la comida espectacular, que si el servicio impecable, que si había ido más de tres veces decidí finalmente hacer una reserva (no fue fácil encontrar sitio) y probar por mí misma. Fui con muchas expectativas y salí con una sensación bastante distinta.

Ambiente: El local es acogedor y con aire acondicionado, lo cual se agradece en esta época del año. Sin embargo, una mesa se quejó de tener frío y, tras insistir, modificaron la temperatura. Resultado: el comedor se empezó a calentar. No fue una gran molestia, pero sí algo incómodo para disfrutar del momento.

Entrantes: Pedimos croquetas y patatas al cabrales. Las croquetas, sinceramente, me decepcionaron: muy normales, incluso he probado mejores en un especial navideño del Lidl. Las patatas eran caseras, sí, pero la salsa no destacó. Esperaba más.

Atención al cliente: Aquí tuve sentimientos encontrados. El primer camarero que nos atendió fue muy amable. Pero al momento de pedir más platos, otro camarero vino y nos disuadió de seguir pidiendo, diciendo literalmente: "mucha comida". Entiendo que quería evitar desperdicios, pero también creo que cada cliente sabe lo que quiere y lo que puede comer especialmente si está pagando. Yo tenía antojo de hamburguesa y mi pareja quería cachopo. Afortunadamente, luego vino el primer camarero, escuchó lo que había pasado y gestionó mi hamburguesa sin problema.

Platos principales: Pedí la hamburguesa Emi, que estaba buena en sabor, pero el pan no estuvo a la altura: muy básico para una hamburguesa tan potente. El cachopo, tristemente, fue el gran desencanto. Estaba muy hecho, con partes quemadas, y me costó encontrar ese “wow” del que tanto me habían hablado. Puede que simplemente no tuvimos suerte ese día.

Postre y final: El postre fue, sin duda, lo mejor de la noche. Levantó bastante la experiencia. También nos ofrecieron chupitos al final, lo cual fue un buen detalle.

Precio: La cuenta fue de unos 90€ para dos personas, lo cual no sería problema si la experiencia global hubiese estado a la altura de lo que esperaba.

En resumen: Quizá fue un mal día. Pero lo cierto es que, por lo que pagué y lo que esperaba, salí decepcionada. Volvería solo si sé que la atención y la cocina están en su mejor versión. Hoy por hoy, no fue mi caso.

I’ve been to this place a couple of times and even though I think the food is good, I don’t get why it is so hard to get reservations.

In both visits the service has been good, the servers recommend dishes and are very nice. This is always a positive thing!!

The food is good and in both visits I tried to taste different dishes to see what was the best thing I could go for. In the end, everything pretty much tastes the same. Not that it’s a bad thing, but is fried meat with different ingredients inside. Many of the “cachopos” taste pretty similar. Nonetheless they are enjoyable and the price is right for the portions.

I might come back with friends.

Recommendation: ask for the cachopo of the month, both times I’ve been there it has been the best out of...
