I have to tell you something - when "Patagonia Steakhouse" in La Marina closed sometime in 2019 (due to COVID madness, just a guess) I was well saddened. My wife and I had some great meals there. Food was excellent for meat carnivores like the two of us and we went as often as we could. Every once in a while after closure we'd drive past the premises hoping that it be reopened. From December 2020 up until June 2021 we must have went by 30 times. We weren't too bothered to dig farther for information because we knew that during COVID madness that'd be a fool's task. But we patrolled by and it stayed firmly closed. One day about 5 days ago my wife saw a billboard in La Marina advertising a new steak and BBQ restaurant and the address seemed eerily familiar. She realized that it was the address of the good old Patagonia. That was the moment of closure for me as I thought Patagonia was over and done with and I assumed that'd be just another place trying to capitalize on the familiarity of the nominal offering and the location. Man was I wrong. I hoped for average and feared subpar experience - Inés steakhouse is the best locus of steak and service excellence in Alicante area in my experience. The staff is so welcoming and the food is so great (drinks too - best Mojito I drank in a long time) that my only advice is: please come and enjoy it all yourself as soon as you can. This restaurant is local to our holiday home. Having recently visited for drinks with friends, me, my mum and dad decided to go there for dinner this evening. The owner, Ines, made us all feel very welcome and the atmosphere was relaxed. There was a gentle Mediterranean breeze with wonderful views overlooking the salinas (salt lakes) to Santa Pola. Although we were late in arriving, the service was excellent. Our table and place settings were finished off with a lit candle that created an additional ambiance. They have a good selection of drinks including a range of beers. My mum and I opted for the German wheat beer which was really nice and was well chilled 😎, followed by the house red which was also good. After a short wait, the food arrived freshly prepared, it was well presented and tasted really good. I’m vegetarian and opted for the burger🍔 my dad had the fish option and my mum, who is a carnivore (!!!🙄))) had the wiener schnitzel which she said was tender and tasty. Although, she would have liked a sauce with her schnitzel, she had not realised this was an option that was available as an additional option on the menu - so would have been nice to have been told about this beforehand. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Inest Bistro, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and made to feel right at home. One of the highlights of our evening was the exceptional service provided by George, the top barman at the restaurant. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the drinks menu and made some fantastic recommendations. His attention to detail and friendly manner made our night all the more special. Another standout feature of the restaurant was the caring attitude of the owners, Ines and her husband. It was clear that they care deeply about their staff and customers alike, which really added to the restaurant's welcoming atmosphere.
