I rarely write negative reviews. So, that says something here. We really liked this place and make the effort to travel here from Torrevieja at least once a year to have their carne filled cannelonis. In our opinion the best around. Unfortunately we may no longer make this effort. The service was some of the worst we have experienced. She was rude, unhappy and seemed put off to be there and wait on us. Upon greeting us, no Hola, Buenos Dias, Hello, just a shrug of the shoulders, no words like 'what do you want?' I asked for a menu, she brought 1, ok fine. I asked for a wine menu, that irritated her. We ordered a bottle and it was almost hot! Not wanting to piss her off more my wife went to the bartender and asked for a frio sleeve, he was apparently nice. We ordered the toasted bread with aioli for 3.50 euro. (I should mention the wine took over 30 minutes, the bread almost 1 hour! We had to ask for her to bring out the bread which did not go over well.) The bread comes with an empty serving bowl and 1 packet of processed aioli. Seriously? 3.50 and you serve a mayonaisse packet? I mean at least try and hide the fact by opening it up and putting it in the bowl so we didn't know. Also it was not enough for the bread so we had to ask for 2 more. I took a picture, because yes, hard to believe charging 3.50 for bread and a packet of ailoi. The food finally came 1 hour and 20 minutes later. It was still good as we remember, but the experience was unfortunately absolutely horrible. I know everyone has a bad day. Too bad she ruined the restaurant as we will likely never go back, I'll make my own cannelonis thankyou. The 2 stars for the food is for the...
Read moreStopped in today for lunch, saw some of the pizzas walk past us, as it looked so good we ordered those. Tono and 4 Carne, with a couple of non alcoholic beers. and some water for the dog. Service was attentive and when the pizzas came the waiter pointed out that a small part of the edge on one pizza was darker than they normally serve, if it was an issue he would replace it immediately. It wasn't that badly burnt and the fact that he pre-empted the possible complaint made it better. And the pizza was fine. Tastes were good and prices were good, and for a sunday afternoon there was a constant turnover of customers.
Only downside was when the bill came, glanced at it. 32.20€, paid it. left a tip. Only when i got to the car did i realise that it was quite high. the 2 pizza's were 17.50 together, which meant 2 non alcoholic beers were 7.35 each. Parrtly my fault for not looking at the bill properly. but worth a visit...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to ‘San Francisco’ restaurant, I was treated to an exceptional dining experience. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the pizza, which was nothing short of spectacular. The taste was authentically Italian, bringing back memories of pizzas I’ve enjoyed in Italy. Each bite was a delightful blend of well-balanced flavors and perfectly cooked crust.
What made our visit even more enjoyable was the service. Our waiter was not only pleasant but also genuinely friendly, making us feel at ease and well taken care of throughout our meal. His recommendations were spot-on and added to our positive experience.
In summary, ‘San Francisco’ offers a slice of Italy with its delicious pizza and warm, friendly service. It’s a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Italian flavors. Well done to the team at ‘San Francisco’ for creating such a memorable...
