We visited La Finca de Susi in June to celebrate a special occasion. There were five of us, and we were looking forward to enjoying a top-level dining experience, given the restaurant’s excellent reputation. At first, the service was very good. A friendly young man welcomed us, asked if we had any allergies or dietary restrictions, and inquired about our preferences for wine. Since we weren't sure which bottle to choose, he said he would speak with the sommelier and get a recommendation for us. However, the experience took a turn when another member of the staff approached, an older man with grey hair, who didn’t introduce himself. He simply asked, “So, what wine do you want?” We explained that the waiter had said he would consult the sommelier based on our preferences. The man replied with a comment that was completely inappropriate: “Yes, but if I recommend something, it might cost over a hundred euros a bottle.” That was an unnecessary and rather rude assumption, as he had no idea what we were planning to spend. He ended up handing us the wine list and left us to choose for ourselves. We selected a very good bottle of Vega Sicilia. Later, when we were discussing our dietary restrictions (two of us don't eat cheese or butter, and one person has a nut allergy), he made another inappropriate remark: “Well, we could be here all night going over what you don’t eat.” Afterward, we saw him a few meters away pointing toward us while speaking to the waitresses, presumably explaining our dietary restrictions, an unprofessional and uncomfortable moment. The food itself was excellent, and the restaurant is undoubtedly beautiful. But the interaction with this staff member left us with a bad impression. We did not allow it to ruin our evening, but it was enough for us to decide we wouldn’t return. It’s a shame that such a lovely place, with such exquisite cuisine, would allow someone with such poor interpersonal skills to represent them. At a restaurant of this level, professionalism and respect should be just as impeccable...
Read moreHigh expectations when we arrived. Restaurant with one michelin star let their guests wait outside. As Germans we arrived at 13.15 and the staff of the restaurant tells us to wait outside until 13.30 because they need to get changed. In what world does a michelin star restaurant make their guests wait outside in August at 40°C.
The reply of the staff was we are getting changed and lunchtime and you have to wait outside until 13.30. Not even water or drinks are offered while 15 people are waiting outside... pathetic when you think about it... you are going to spend over 200eu per head and they make you wait outside like an animal.
Way to go forward and love the way they treat their guest upon arrival. Now lets talk about the service in La finca.
Thank god we did nor order the 12 course Menu otherwise we wouldnt leave until Christmas eve. The Manager on Duty called Martin talks his way out with every complain like a clown. Giving Stupid replys when we are giving constructive criticism.
So we ordered the three course Menu with cheese platter. Its been 3 hours and we are still sitting ducks at the table.
I dont know how this restaurant has gotten its Michelin star. Staff needs to wake up and the chef Susi Diaz definitely is running out of ideas. I tried the Toro Sandwich and i have tried better sandwiches/canapes at weddings.
My most honest and sincere review "the place is just not worth it" Spend your money somewhere else. Looks expensive with all the small deco on the food but reality check is its not...
Read moreThe amazing thing about this restaurant is presentation of the food, all dishes look amazing and it feels like a piece of art. Overall we enjoyed our experience at La Finca, for us the genesis L menu was more than we could eat. The flavors of the food were nice (spanish flavors), we missed a bit of a flavor explosion when eating the dishes. The service was ok, but I felt like the waiters where rushing our food on the table and at the same time as if they where not allowed to smile. When we paid and left there was not even someone to greet you (which I think is strange in a restaurant like this) The look and feel of the restaurant have to be your style, for us it felt a bit cold and distant. Finally, the wines were presented in a 20 page PDF file on your phone, we like to have it more simple and as well in our hands rather than...
