Jackson American — Restaurant in Elx / Elche

I very rarely write reviews, but I had to say this. Not pleasant experience! We went there for the first time and the last.! Quality of customer service was poor. Place is big, tidy, but not clean. It was empty (just after 2pm), so we thought.. the waiters' attention and time are in our hands. :) Well, my Spanish is alright, but one thing what I didn't understood in the menu(as it's just Spanish) and I asked her if she understands English, where the answer was strict No! Was a bit confusing as on the table mat it says 'official Irish Pub', then it's American Diner and Mediterranean Cousin, but none of the staff speak a word of English. We happily waiting for our burgers, when they arrived we were surprised by it's size (considering the price 13.90 and 15.90), disappointing!!! And my Angus beef burger came with a salad (what wasn't mentioned on the menu), but the worst part - tuna salad!!! 😯 The Angus burger was dry and as no one came to ask if everything was okay, I just ate it as I was hungry. Then we seen bits, dirt floating at the bottom of my partners beer (still 1/4 of the beer was left), stopped drinking it! We finished food, drinks, chatting and still no one around (it wasn't busy at all). The girl only responded when my partner got up and went to ask for the bill. When she brought the bill, she didn't even then asked if everything was okay? So I had to talk to her(with my 'best Spanish') and show her the beer glass. She looked at it with eyes wide open, said sorry and that's it and when I mentioned other things she was just ignorant and with the attitude and grimace... not even trying to correct the situation, apologise or offer a discount! When I mentioned that I didn't want to pay for the beer, she went and took it off the bill, like doing me a favor. When we left, I tried to be polite and say goodbye, but she was looking somewhere in the distance and pretending not to see. What an attitude,...

Are your 4 and 5 star reviews a joke? I expect they're just as fake as the staged photos. This is the very worse place I've visited in the 20+ years I've been in Spain. This is Spain and a small wine producing region, this place didn't have white wine - of any description - imagine that. This place does not serve food all day if at all (I think the staff choose). We (group of 5) sat down for dinner at a table set with cutlery and menus only to be told after 15 minutes of waiting and when we beckoned the "waiter" over that they weren't serving - miffed as we could clearly see dirty plates on other tables I can only assume they were left from the last time they did serve. The place has kerb appeal that's why we stopped but don't judge this book by it's cover. Look beneath the surface it's dirty, the bogs are rank and its hard to destinguish the staff from the social drop out (no offence to the latter I couldn't think of another analogy).

I'm forced to give 1 star as i'm not able to give a very well deserved zero star review - this place has no redeeming features. Avoid this place at all costs - there's a McDonalds just over...

Hemos ido en muchas ocasiones a este bar, y a pesar de que a veces son un poco bordes nunca habíamos tenido una situación tan desagradable como la de anoche… llegamos y un camarero súper amable nos sentó en una mesa en la terraza pedimos las consumiciones y las pagamos (guardamos el tiket). Al rato vimos que se quedó una mesa dentro libre y entramos ya que queríamos jugar al billar. Estuvimos media hora sentados dentro, y cuando vimos que el billar quedó libre, nos levantamos rápido para cogerlo, al poco (no más de 5 min) mi amigo que había pedido un Martini se acercó a la mesa donde estábamos para coger el vaso, el cual ya no estaba porque la camarera lo había retirado sin preguntar (quedaban dos dedos de bebida, cuando un martini son 4 o 5 dedos, por lo tanto la mitad de la consumición) al darse cuenta enseguida se lo comentó a la chica, la cual sacó el vaso de entre todos los demás vasos sucios y se lo dió a mi amigo (cosa bastante poco higiénica) al no sentirse cómodo con esa consumición (ya que no sabe si ha podido caerle algo o cualquier cosa) le pidió por favor que le pusiera otra. Al pedirle la cuenta de esa y dos consumiciones más, me trajo el datáfono con la cantidad puesta y lo acerco a mi teléfono sin apenas poder ver el importe… le pido por favor que me diga el precio de cada cosa y resulta que me había cobrado más que en el otro tiket, incluido el Martini que había retirado, me lo cobro 1€ más caro que el anterior. Al preguntarle el motivo me dice que si quiere todavía puede cobrarme más, que lo ha echo en modo de favor porque somos de clase “trabajadora”, y que dentro del pub ella cobra lo que considera según las clases y que si lo llega a saber me cobra el Máximo. Debido a su poca educación, sus formas y sus maneras mi amiga le pidió una hoja de reclamaciones, las formas fueron a peor por parte de ella incluso llegó a decirle a mi amiga textualmente “por aquí no vuelvas más que no te voy a dejar entrar”. Viendo su chulería, su altanería, y demás las 5 personas que estábamos pedimos hojas de reclamaciones. Penoso que hasta el último momento siguiera tratándonos fatal por un error de ella (el cual todos podemos tener) pero hay que saber pedir perdón y no ser tan orgullosa...
