Pretty, well maintained restaurant with friendly, courteous service. Unfortunately I do not understand why they have a Guide Michelin mention for their food.
The bread and butter were very nice. So was the tomato tartin starter. The Aubergine lasagna starter however had may too much stone cold Hollandaise. For main I had the wood pigeon - it was very underspiced. They had burned the skin a bit, perhaps to give a smoky taste. That was fine but unfortunately the skin was completely soft despite this. No crisp. The meat was sous vide or low temperature cooked, perhaps a touch too raw but that's personal taste. With it came a small serving of cabbage, that was hopelessly overcooked and also devoid of any taste other than smoke.
So overall nothing to write home about and given the higher than normal price point, not acceptable. Sad, because minor adjustments on the dishes served would have made it...
Read moreWe found this restaurant on the Michelin guide and drove 50 mins to this small town to experience the restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing, including the pepper ice cream was an incredible surprise. The staff was super attentive and kind.
The only issue that raised that tainted the experience was the blond woman working came to our table at the end of our meal and was quite direct saying “sorry but we explained to you on the phone when you made a reservation you can only sit at the table for 2 hours and we need to change the table”. Not sure if that was explained as I didn’t make the reservation but It was quite direct and off putting for a restaurant listed in the Michelin guide and for the amount of money we just paid 5 mins earlier.
I fully understand the need to turn tables for a popular restaurant as Ca na Pilar but I hope the management improve the way they speak and treat...
Read moreSuch a disappointment experience. I was looking forward to going to this restaurant, but was left out. For starters I’m vegetarian, and they don’t have any vegetarian dish on the menu. So they offered me pasta with butter as sauce, not what your looking for in a Michelin… then to remove fish from one of the starters, but for this sort of restaurant I expect to eat a plate that was well thought of, so removing something doesn’t work.plus was not a great option. So I had the bread as my main, and they charged per person, even though it was supposed to be my “main”. Finally they got the wrong dish to my husband, he ordered the gnocchi, and here is the pork… considering many people cannot have pork, this is worrying. Anyway, we left quickly, disappointed and without of any sort of reparation on the bill, the very least was to charge the bread only for one. My 2 starts were cause the...
