RESTAURANTE ES CHIC — Restaurant in es Migjorn Gran

I have to Edit and amend this review in view of what happened on 6 January 23. Wife and I had a confirmed reservation for lunch made through The Fork, online booking system. Confirmation email received on 4 Jan. Arrived 10 mins before reservation to be told we had no reservation. Produced confirmation email. Manageress checked system and appeared to find the booking, but said it didn’t matter as they were totally fully booked. Wife stood her ground while staff stared at her and the manageress reiterated no table and fully booked (restaurant empty at this point and no reserva signs on tables for two). Embarrassed and sad we left and returned home. Emailed the Fork bookings. They replied an hour later saying they had phoned the restaurant and the restaurant said they had asked us to wait while they found our booking but we had left. Wouldn’t mind a genuine mistake, but to compound it by lying is awful. We have enjoyed lunch at this restaurant many times. Never again. Don’t chance booking as they might well fail to honour it, even if you have proof. Just not worth risking it. Disastrous way to run...

Oh dear. Excited to come here as we love Es Migjorn and we read a recommendation in the fab Roquetta Magazine. We were also looking for a potential wedding reception venue for our daughter so we were excited. The setting was lovely, sunset views at the back.Mussels starter great but my cod loin basically buried at the bottom of a very salty thick onion soup with packet croutons on top. We never leave bad reviews so hate doing this but the main reason for the one star was the appalling service. Our waitress could not be more rude or disinterested. I cannot remember ever having such a rude service. She slammed our appetisers down on the table, walked off without looking at us and then came back later asking if we had had appetisers? Clearly so disinterested she couldn’t remember putting it on the table and the Restaurant was not busy. No smile, zero interest.Then when the owner was not looking was checking on her phone. She never made eye contact and this waitress is a massive liability for this otherwise potentially...

Not Dog friendly. We called to make a lunchtime reservation and we were eagerly greeted. I said we have a dog and was told “yes,yes”. We drove the 25 minutes to be told on arrival that our dog would not be allowed. I believe this was a genuine error on the part of the management misunderstanding our phone call so this review is just to highlight that dogs are NOT allowed, so disregard our rating, however we can not leave comments without a review.
