Simply one of the best restaurants - and best experiences - you will find anywhere, surprisingly tucked on a terrace in the beautiful town of Fuenteheridos. The food is unique, prepared and presented with care, and full of amazing flavors that can't be found anywhere else in the Sierra (or really anywhere!). The croquettes are superb, and offer a great variety, and we were similarly blown away by the other dishes we tried, especially the baba ganoush, soup of the day, vegan pate... everything. And the desserts!

Whether you are a vegetarian, vegan, or anything else, you should do yourself a favor and eat here. On our first visit we had such a great meal, and enjoyed chatting with owners Josemari and Fati so much, we immediately decided we need to go again to sample more of the menu and enjoy the great company. Seriously, it's worth planning a visit to this part of Spain (which is beautiful and serene) just to dine at VEGandVEG....

OMG - if you can change your trip to visit this place, then do it. We ate here on both our nights in Fuenteheridos, something we wouldn’t normally do, as we usually try different places - but here we just wanted to recreate the first night again, it was that good.

In an area focussed on meat products, this place is an oasis of healthy non-meat based food. But not your average ‘vegan/ veggie’ food you might expect. Josema and Fáti cook everything from scratch (well, Fáti does 😉) and the food is served with such care, kindness and love that it feels like dining in your own family home. The ingredients are all fresh, and the recipes amazing. We ate until we couldn’t eat any more (including dessert), and on neither night did we get near €50 for the two of us, drinks included.

Dos hemos ido, dos veces sin sentarnos. Nos dicen la primera vez, 22:00, hora de la cena, bar sin nadie, que sin reserva no podemos sentarnos. Segunda vez, venimos a merendar, el camarero nos dice que sí, habla con la cocinera y le dice que no, sólo café, que no quedan tartas, que van a empezar a hacer las comidas de la cena. Son las 17:30.

Respuesta al comentario del dueño: No puedo responder a las respuestas y lo contesto por aquí. A ver es que es una cuestión de servicio, no de la calidad de la comida porque no la he podido probar. Desde mi punto de vista y con todo el respeto del mundo, si lo hacéis en vista a que en la cocina no se tiene el tiempo suficiente para emplatar y preparar platos, algo falla, concretamente porque de lo que trata un restaurante y corrígeme si me equivoco, es hacer dinero y dar un buen servicio.

Fuenteheridos por desgracia, es un pueblo que tiene 823 habitantes y viene gente de fuera a desconectar o visitar el pueblo, no sólo de los pueblos de los alrededores, también desde más lejos como yo, que no suele ir a Fuenteheridos, lo que quiero decir es que si a cada visitante que desconoce vuestra forma de llevar el negocio, totalmente respetable porque para eso es vuestro, quizás no lo estáis enfocando correctamente por muy bien que se coma, porque estáis perdiendo clientes.

En Japón, ya que me habla usted de ITV o médico, y como bien conocerá y si no lo conoce se lo explico, tiene un sistema un tanto especial para el tema de la comida y en muchos sitios no permiten extranjeros porque no conocen las normas. El sistema que ellos tienen es, si quieres reserva te tomo nota y te doy una hora prudente para poder preparar las cosas tenerlas presentes para poder prepararlas, o bien vas cuando abres el local y haces cola una hora antes para reservar, si no tienes reserva, hay dos posibilidades según el local, o esperas en la cola habiendo preseleccionado que querrás tomar y te esperas a que te den los camareros hueco, o bien no te puedes sentar. Pero es que este sistema sólo ocurre en las grandes ciudades, porque es lo normal, sitios donde los locales se conocen más. En los pueblos, no implantan este sistema porque no tiene sentido, que si vienen visitantes esporádicamente, no se puedan sentar a comer y menos a tomar un trozo de tarta a las 17:30 con un café, indicándonos, que no habrá entonces para la hora de la cena postre, no tiene sentido por el simple hecho de que me estás negando darme un servicio que puedes dar sin problema, esto fueron palabras textuales de su mujer transmitidas por usted, no mías.
