I read several reviews praising the service here, but I’m not sure where those friendly waiters were because ours was far from pleasant. Throughout the entire evening, the service was rude in both Spanish and English, which was disappointing as we were a mixed group of English and Spanish speakers. We felt rushed from the start, as if they wanted us to leave as quickly as possible. Despite having an early reservation at 19:30, we were told we couldn’t start with just tapas and order more food later. The waiter insisted we place our entire order upfront, except for desserts and coffee. Later, after we had ordered everything, including main courses, he changed the story, saying that ordering in rounds would be inconvenient because it would get busy later. We didn’t mind taking our time, but if they had another reservation after us, they should have informed us upfront or managed it without making us feel rushed.
As the evening progressed, the rushing only intensified. Barely two minutes after handing us the dessert menu, they stood by our table, ready to take the order, even though our group was incomplete. When I explained that we weren’t ready because someone hadn’t even looked at the menu yet, the waiter pointed out the missing person returning to the table and said, "She’s here now," but in a very unfriendly manner. Then the coffee arrived, one tasted strange, and the other was cold. When we asked for a replacement (only for the cold coffee), it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than receiving an apology for the cold coffee. The response was just a curt "okay" before walking away to get a new one.
Overall, we felt uncomfortable throughout the evening and decided not to leave a tip. The food was good, and I’m sure there are friendly staff here based on other reviews, but we won’t...
Read moreLocated in L'Escala, Oreig Restaurant offers a mix of local Mediterranean cuisine and sushi, but for us, the sushi stole the show. It’s simply spectacular! They use only the freshest ingredients, and you can truly taste the quality in every bite. What sets their sushi apart is the exciting fusion of flavors—some with Peruvian influences like ají, creating a unique and delicious experience. This isn’t your typical sushi; their creative combinations of toppings and fillings work incredibly well, making every dish a pleasant surprise.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere is great. They have a lovely outdoor terrace where dogs are welcome, making it the perfect spot to unwind, especially after a summer day at the beach. The service is fast and friendly, and they offer a great selection of wines along with a huge menu covering both Mediterranean and sushi options.
Without a doubt, this is our favorite restaurant in the area. Highly...
Read moreThe food was tasty and delicious! Most of us in the group had sushi, and we loved it.
Service was just okay. We booked for 2:00 PM, but they told us to come between 3:00 and 3:15 PM. We arrived around 3:05 and were told to wait 15–20 minutes. In the end, we waited almost an hour because one staff member missed our spot in the line and gave another group a table before us. We ordered drinks while waiting.
Once seated, we ordered and the food came out quickly, which was great—we were starving!
The restaurant atmosphere itself is cozy when it’s not too noisy.
(I forgot to take photos of the other food we had and the...
