Where do I begin to explain how truly outstanding this restaurant is??!

The Rok staff impressed me greatly. They knew the menu well. They went out of their way for our group of eight. Every staff member was kind and they worked together as a team. In addition to that, there were no language barriers. They fluently spoke English, French, Spanish, and if our table were there longer, I'm sure they could have learned some Vietnamese as well!

Now for the food, which was BEYOND fantastic. Sangria is a MUST when you're in Spain, especially on a hot summer day. Calamari and mussels are simple dishes and easily made incorrectly. But Rok's kitchen prepared them perfectly and did not over season them or over cooked them. I still crave them a month later! Their oysters were AMAZING. I could taste the freshness. They were sweet and buttery. In addition to those delicious appetizers, we also ordered the burrata salad that was light and refreshing during a crazy hot summer day! Which was something we needed during the middle of the heatwave!!

As for our main dishes, my father shared and enjoyed the 1kg Ribeye steak with his friends. While my mother and her friends each ordered the Cod. I was fortunate to try a piece of the Ribeye. It was wonderfully tender and melted in my mouth. I plan to order the Cod next time. As for me, I had the Duck Margret for my main course. A dry white wine, whose name I forget, paired so well. The strawberry confit on the duck added a perfect touch. To finish an already perfect lunch, I had their homemade tiramisu, which is a dessert I wish I had right now as I'm writing this review!!

If me talking about the food and the staff members did sell you on how outstanding Rok is, let me tell you about the spectacular panoramic view of the Mediterranean Sea that Rok has. I don't think there is another restaurant in the area that has this view.

The owner noticed us taking photos. He kindly offered to take a picture of our group in addition to allowing us to take home the fans that were only meant to be used at the restaurant. I regret not asking for his name because I want to thank him for opening this wonderful restaurant. It allowed us to create lasting memories in L'Escala. So this review is the least I can do to thank...

Our little road trip to Empuriabrave has been an absolute culinary delight. We were lucky to get a table @rok.restaurante yesterday. What an amazing treat. The environment and service are both outstanding, and the food... a true showcase of local produce at its finest!

We started with the local anchovies served with freshly made tomato bread. They melted like butter, and the flavour.. wow! We also tried a selection of the croquettes which were also delicious.

For our main course, I had the vitelo tonate, one of my all time favourite dishes so it had a lot to live up to. What was presented was a piece of art. Beautifully decorated with micro herbs, pearls of sauce and shavings of parmesagne. It was delicious.

Hubby had the salt cod. Omg... the fish simply flaked apart and the red peppers it was served on were packed full of flavour. It looked so simple, I'm sure it was far from simple to prepare to that standard.

For desert it was the chefs take on a pina colada. It had booze in so not for me, but hubby loved it. Roasted pineapple, flambé with alcohol and a coconut cream. It looked stunning and he was a very happy man!

Definitely recommend a visit if you're...

Last night we ate at ROK for the second time, the atmosphere was warm with excitement and delight with the wonderful food. Artichokes with Foie Gras shavings, Aubergine with girollle mousse, leek terrine held together with crisp seaweed were so mouth-wateringly delicious we’d decided they needed a Michelin star before we’d even touched the main courses. Main courses of truly fantastic fresh cod and a superb cuttlefish burger set on a stylish toasted brioche with a rainbow of mini leaves did nothing to dissuade our Michelin worthy praise … naturally we finished with our now favourite chocolate olive oil and salt desert toasted with Frangelica liquor from lovely Sita, Alex and their team … we had another spectacular evening … with the addition of those amazing views across Roses Bay in lovely Montgó … nothing could be better … you must try it. Dawn,...

5/5 Experience, highly recommended! This new restaurant is one of the best in L’Escala. The food was delicious and the menu is very versatile and innovative. Everything we ordered tasted great. In order to get a table in the evening, I believe one should book a table in advance. Overall the restaurant offers a great atmosphere with a fantastic view of the sea. The service was nice, friendly and did a great job. In light of all of this, the prices are completely justified and fair. We will definitely come back again soon and try more dishes.
