We stopped for a night at this hotel prior to visiting Monatario de Piedra. It was a total unknown and selected by us primarily for availability and a single room for 4. We were travlling with a 14 and 11 year old. The reception staff were quick and helpful. The room was clean and had a good shower facility. There was no mini fridge in the room (hence only 3 stars I suppose) but other than that was well appointed. The beds were comfortable and, even though there was a bar and restaurant downstairs open till late, the room was totally quite. The breakfast next morning was simple but tasty. I would recommend going early as the selected pastries provided were grabbed quicly by some of the patrons and there were only croissants remaining for the later visitors. The coffee was the only down point as we had to get a member of staff to pour our cups (from a machine) and even then it was a quite weak beverage (not her fault). We went for a quick walk to the local 'panaderia' which which made all its product on site and bought a large selection to bring home. It was of excellent quality. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and we will return if the...

Read moreWe used this hotel in February and didn't see any of the outside areas shown in the photos on line. The room and bathroom were large and the fittings very good quality. The corridors were v hot! The Goya restaurant was not open. We were told the traditional restaurant would be open but we didn't see anyone in there in the evening. We ate in the cafe bar attached to the hotel which appears to attract a lot of local trade; we had tapas and a couple of beers which was fine. We hadn't booked the buffet breakfast and decided to wait till the morning to see what there was, we didn't see anything laid out and therefore didn't have breakfast! We used this hotel on route to Santander from Valencia area. The location on paper looks good. However, travellers should be aware that the A220 into the town has a poor surface. If you follow your sat nav out of the town it will take you on the A121 - find another route!||Another 25km of poor road surface and in winter its very bleak and very slow, limited...
