Nobody in their right minds in the area around the bay of Algeciras would ever think of eating in Gib.

You go to Gib early in the morning, do your shopping or touristy things, came out, and drive to La Atunara, a very modest (not to say ugly) area of La Linea, where there are a number of excellent fish restaurants.
We've been coming to the Varadero - or the Manolo as it used to be - for 40+ years. And have never been disappointed.
Fish, fresh fish. You might get some salad too, but basically it's fish and seafood.
Fried, grilled, baked, cooked however you like. The portions are pretty large, you might want to ask for a media racion of some of the things. If you are a large-ish group, get 6 or 7 different things to share. Yummy all of it.
And as is normal in La Linea, generally less pricey than in the Costa del Sol or nearby Algeciras.

What a surprise this place offers great food, fresh fish and truly amazing prices in compare to other places. The portions are big so choose wisely between half portion or normal portion (ración). The service was exceptional, the waiter was very nice, even helped me cleaning a wound I had from a monkey attack in Gibraltar. Next time we are in the neighbourhood we will definitely go again. En su carta encontramos ensaladas, entrantes, mariscos, pescados y carnes, en la mayoría de los platos con posibilidad de elegir entre medias raciones y raciones enteras. Nos decidimos por una sopa de mariscos, dos tortillitas de camarones, una ración de pulpo en tomate, una ración de gallo rebozado, un tanque de cerveza, dos refrescos y un café con leche, para una cuenta de 40 € para tres personas. Ya habíamos acudido anteriormente a este restaurante y en esta ocasión nos encontramos con el mismo problema que en la anterior visita: no tienen todos los platos que ofrecen en la carta; la vez anterior no tenían ni boquerones rellenos ni pulpo en tomate, esta vez al menos había pulpo pero seguían sin tener boquerones rellenos. La calidad de la comida es correcta, aunque no para tirar cohetes; en la anterior ocasión el gallo rebozado estaba buenísimo; esta vez, sin embargo, tenía un exceso de rebozado, y el pulpo en tomate lo he probado mejor en otros sitios.
