We visited one of the best rated restaurants here in town, without a reservation we would have had no chance at all to get a table here. Unfortunately, in retrospect, it was also the worst and most expensive meal of our stay here in Lekeitio. A big disappointment.
There are no designated appetizers on the menu. There are also no side dishes mentioned with the dishes. No other side dishes specified in the menu either. With the high prices of the meat and fish dishes, we had expected at least small side dishes. Unfortunately, there was nothing at all to the tiny portions. 28€ for a pulpo as big as two pintxos. We therefore quickly ordered salad and fries to get at least a little full. The surprise came with the bill, another 10€ for a handful of fries. The fish Bacalao al Pil-Pil was actually good in taste, but completely oversalted. Size of the fish was small, some sauce, nothing extra, 22€. See pictures.

Our main dishes were fish, that was too salty and tasteless, and octopus, that was okay. The portions were too small and there were also no side dishes included. Read moreLugar bonito y bien cuidado. Comida muy buena, no barata, pero lo que ofrecen no es para menos, carta escueta pero materia prima inmejorable. Nosotros no pedímos pescado porque ya veníamos de ruta de costa y nos apetecía carne, “txuleta” muy buena aunque mejoraría la guarnición por ponerle un pero. El servicio es atento, respetuoso y eficiente incluso cuando la clientela no acompaña; hoy me he sentido ofendida y enfadada gran parte de la comida como cliente, ex-trabajadora de hostelería y como mujer por como se ha tratado a la camarera, pero también al camarero, no hay sueldo suficiente para aguantar tanta impertinencia, soberbia y mala educación en un solo día, y siempre con una sonrisa y con la educación que no se les ha prestado a ellos y manteniendo el buen servicio. Si el dueño lee esto, de vez en cuando es bueno poner en su sitio a la clientela si se propasan con sus trabajadores aunque se “pierda” un cliente; mucha queja de que no encuentran trabajadores válidos, pero los que si lo son, no pueden ser tratados así sin que nadie diga nada.
