We came with high expectations which were raised even further when seeing the prices - which are very high for Loja. For starters we tried two croquettas. They were ok but not more. I expected much for finesse for this high price. For main we had a rip eye and a fish. The fish was cooked well but came with one little potato and little tomato as a side - how dare you being so cheap when charging these high prices! You should be ashamed! The rip eye was raw - blue, raw. I ordered it medium so I was surprised to see it raw - considering that it was sliced. The chef must have seen that and still served it. Again, how dare you, treating your paying customers that badly! The service was so so. We had to ask for a new drink every time our glasses were empty as they didn’t care. When I complained about the raw meat I didn’t even get an apology but was looked at like i was the first customer ever who complained. It’s really a pitty as the location and the atmosphere are very pleasant.
Looking at the feedback from the restaurant to criticism on reviews here and can clearly see that they don’t take any responsibility, are not able to handle that criticism and blame the customer. In almost every comment on customer’s feedback you mention the high quality of the produce. I believe it is high quality produce but what is it worth if it’s not...
Read moreOur family happened on this roadside gem on our drive to Granada. The server opened early for our group so we could enjoy sangria before dinner. The sangria was perfect and we’ve enjoyed this all over Spain from costa Brava to Costa del Sol:-)
For appetizers we had our go-to pan con tomato (with apologizes I speak no Spanish), the artichokes with aioli - amazing- and the grilled octopus - another solid win. For dinner, I had the trout (local apparently) and I was so wowed by this dish which made the fish just shine. The rest of my party had the lamb shank and the lamb chops. There were only bones on the plates when we finished:-) I tasted the shank and it blew me away. Get this dish if you like lamb.
The wine list had a nice variety of Spanish selections from a range of price points.
Dessert did not disappoint. The cheesecake was my favorite, but my daughter said that the brownie was wonderful.
The “chef” is three Spanish ladies who clearly cook from the heart.
