I've been wanting to come here for about 3 years, and this evening it finally happened! It was absolutely superb, every single dish was a taste sensation of its own, right down to the deserts, we had 1 of each, and they were all brilliant, that lime sorbet was a fantastic way to end the evening. The ambiance and the view was unbeatable! The service was excellent, the staff so friendly and attentive. I will most definitely be back in the very near future. In June we had a wonderful dinner here. The food was international top quality. We were so much looking forward to returning. This time the service and atmosphere were great, but the food was very disappointing. The nigiri (tuna, tuna belly, eel) were all very sad, the fish was poor quality and the rice seemed to be made by someone who has never actually tasted good sushi. (Also the restaurant did not have sake or sherry, a seemingly minor detail but does say much about the restaurant's current level of ambition) Such as shame to drive all the way to Loja to be so sadly...

Definitely gone downhill since our 2 back to back visits in 2022 ( it was that good then!) Menu has changed & not for the better, service poor, unfriendly, inattentive. Our full order was taken & 1 item came out at least 45mins after everything else (we had to ask about it). No drink refill offers. Food just ok, not a patch on the old menu. Won't hurry to return. Which is a shame, pre this "update", Mokuren was quickly becoming our favourite sushi...
