Servando Playa — Restaurant in Málaga

Greeted by a friendly waiter whose demeanour completely changed once we asked for a table. Then spent a good 30 seconds seemingly deciding if he wanted to seat us in a basically empty restaurant?

We got our drinks fairly quickly from a different waiter who had a very standoffish attitude, and then waited about 30 minutes for someone to take our order. At one point a different waiter came to clear our bottles and told us he couldn’t take our order and pointed to the waiter who would… who was stood on the beach chatting to someone, totally ignoring us

In the meantime, other tables who came in after us were getting their food brought before we’d even ordered. There was probably one waiter per table at this point and every other one was just walking past us and ignoring us. We had enough and decided we were ready to leave when our waiter finally came and took our order

The food came out promptly and was quite nice, even though they didn’t bring my partner what she actually ordered (tuna instead of salmon poke bowl). I enjoyed the swordfish, I think the food was very fairly-priced so I can’t fault them there

The food can’t really make up for the entirely unwelcoming atmosphere though. The whole time we could tell we were being ignored, there’s no excuse for waiting 30 minutes to have your order taken when you have so many waiting on staff

We 100% would never come here again and advise anyone else to avoid this place too - unless you don’t mind being treated like an inconvenience

Oh and judging by the other reviews I can expect the owner (who’s attitude is very confrontational, btw) to be leaving some kind of snarky comment in response to this review - looking...

A bit of background, long day of travel, kids tired and hungry. Opted for this beach restaurant as close to the hotel. Arrived and we were seated. Waiter cleaned the table. We ordered drinks, two beers and a bottle of water for the kids. Drinks came very quickly, water for the kids but one glass. Waiter acknowledged this and said would come back with another glass. Kids begin to argue over the glass. We sort them out getting them to share for the time being. Waiter came back and we ordered our food, but no second glass. Spaghetti Bol, and cheeseburger off the kids menu and the smash burger and chicken skewer for us. Kids food came out promptly. We realised the spaghetti Bol was stone cold. Obviously we didn’t want our 3 year old to eat due to the possibility of food poisoning. Then we had no contact for at least 40mins. Beers finished, wife and i starving with the prospect of the food we are going to receive going to be cooked with the care and attention of our sons!? We were about to leave when our mains came out, by this time our appetite had gone. I told the waiter the spaghetti Bol was stone cold, and we had this removed from the bill. I do feel this is terrible that this left the kitchen....

My experience in this restaurant is absolutely appalling me and my husband went in to have some lunch not to be even greeted nicely we sat down about 5 minutes later someone came to take our order that was ok, it seemed to be just all Spanish in the restaurant where every table had little bread rolls and olives our table had nothing it annoyed me so much I had to ask a staff member for a roll and olive’s that was ok 40 minutes went bye we still had no food and people that came in after us was already after been served their food I asked a staff member where’s our food made a sound and walked away from us staff had absolutely no manners the height of ignorance I wouldn’t recommend this to any nationality to be treated the same staff didn’t...
