Tick Tack Arrocería — Restaurant in Málaga

I will start with the positive things first. The restaurant is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Easy parking right on the street. The restaurant is a typical spanish atmosphere. The Paella was excellent. Exactly how we like it.

When I looked at their website and their google listing, it clearly said 12pm - 23pm. We were there around 7pm. The waiter said that they will open at 8pm, which we found a little strange. We went back home and came back exactly at 8:50pm. Now we waited at the restaurant entrance until the waiter came and said "Completo". I had to explain that we came earlier and you said you were not open yet and now you're telling us that you are full ! Then he suggested that we wait around 15 minutes which turned out to be more than half hour wait outside in the cold. We saw that the poor waiter was trying his best trying to satisfy all the tables all at the same time, there was at least 25 guests total for one waiter alone !

Anyway, the Paella was excellent, the Cheese Cakes as well. Reasonable prices and that's...

Food was delicious, but.... We had seen in a review that someone else had been scammed with their bill but went anyway, and made a mental note to make sure we check it before paying. There were two of us and we ordered two starters and main to share. The starters were huge but when we got the bill they'd doubled the starters and essentially given us 4 starters!!! I'd very clearly asked for one of each, but even if I hadn't, who on earth would thing we wanted two of each?! I was incredibly annoyed. So if you go here, enjoy the food, it is great, but ask for the bill at the time...

This could easily have been 4 stars. First off the food was good. We were a table of ten and they seated us without a booking. We ordered Paella for 7 people and it was more than enough for 8 with seconds.

Now the not so good. We ordered a carafe of house red and were told that they only sold bottles. We were then served a bottle that cost €24!!

When the bill came they had charged us for 3 bottles of wine and 3 beers instead of two each.
