In a relatively empty place, this restaurant is the light in darkness. It has a modern, comfy and stylish interior that stands out in the local sight.
I live on the coast of Cadiz, where the popular Almadraba tuna is eaten. It is a relatively good tuna fish. But, for a change, we ate the tuna tartar from, here. After years of tuna tasting years, I must say, this is the best I've tried.
This restaurant takes a hit on local, traditional food and adds a pinch of the chefs imagination, with success. For example: it has the traditional "pimiento asado" , but also a traditional "viera" but with sashimi, creating a delicious dish.
Not only was it's service kind and personal, but also gave great recommendations. I recommend this restaurant for it's delicious take on local food and nice interior and service.
We had spent 2h in Galicia, and this restaurant gave it a nice start and I can't wait for the desserts!

Read moreWe visited Material on December 2021 with local friends. We had the carpaccio de picaña, pulpo a la parrilla, centolla and erizo as entrance. Just spectacular. After that, we ordered the simental and frisona meat. As an Argentinian meat eater, the meat was just extremely tasty and perfectly cooked. The selection of wines was impressive and very good priced. The restaurant has a really warm atmosphere, the modern furniture is nicely mixed with the old stone of the building. The owner is very friendly and passionate about the quality of his product; this led to a nice talk and how they manage to generate this impressive venue and the products offered. Read moreFIRST TIME, just opened last June, ...a parrilada here in Malpica. The Restaurante Materiál is, in my opinion, in the top two, if not the best restaurant in this area. A real dining adventure !!! Everything we had, from the locally-baked artisan bread served with cute butter balls, paper-thin slices of fine picaña beef, grilled Cabra del Cantu (Rockfish) accompanied with grilled half potatoes and cherry tomatoes to the barbecued Simmental rib-eye with lettuce salad, all fantastic. But, their food was not all. The attention of the owner couple, very young at 27 (!) presented a really nice ambience for a competely pleasant dining experience.
