Restaurante O Burato — Restaurant in Malpica de Bergantiños

It's our second year in Malpica, and we cried a little bit, that we discovered the O Burato just this year. We tried so much food in the city of pescada, but this restaurant is the best one! The service and the food are absolutely amazing! We tried at the first evening Arroz Mixto, so much delicious food for less money! At the second evening we tried Pulpo con clams (forgot the spanish word) as starter and Parrilla de pescada as main dish. The Pulpo was absolutely soft and the taste was perfect, because of the added Garlic and the tasty olive oil. We dipped all of the juice with the fantastic bread of the local bakery away :) The grilled fish plate was also really delicious, with a squeeze of lemon just perfect. The meal was perfect with the big range of regional wine. The coffee (with a special ingredient Orujo ;) ) and the desserts are served on cute little plates and cups, handmade, with the inscription Malpica and O Burato, made with lots of love. This place was fine, but I had higher hopes. Walking in, the ambiance was welcoming, with soft music and a nice layout that made it feel comfortable. The staff was friendly enough, though it took a while to get our order taken. The menu looked promising, with a range of dishes that sounded exciting. However, the food didn’t quite match the hype. My dish was cooked well but lacked the punch of flavor I was expecting. My partner’s meal was better but still not amazing. The drinks were a bright spot—well-made and refreshing. Service was okay but slowed down toward the end. It’s a solid choice if you’re nearby, but I wouldn’t go out of my way...

Repetimos y fue un error Quisimos volver mi pareja y yo a comer a este restaurante, recordando una buena experiencia de hace unos 2 años (antes de la pandemia). Reservamos para las dos de la tarde. Para ir decidimos ir por una carretera que no conocíamos y viendo que no llegaríamos puntuales llamamos para avisar. Llegamos a las 2 y veinte, el comedor estaba lleno y gente esperando, tuvimos que esperar unos minutos para entrar. Nada grave y hasta cierto punto lógico debido a nuestro retraso. Pedimos unas almejas a la plancha, unas navajas y una parrillada de pescado para dos, botella de agua y dos copas de vino.

Lo que no esperábamos es que pasada media hora aún no nos habían servido nada de lo pedido. Media hora después apenas nos habían traído el pan y las bebidas. En ese momento nos trajeron las navajas (8 uds.) que por cierto estaban poco hechas y con mucho aceite. Como 15 min. después llegaron las almejas (12 uds.) que tenían el mismo defecto. Por fin una hora y media después del hacer el pedido nos llegó la parrillada de pescado (4 trozos de pescado) normalito con unas patatas cocidas, que ellas sí que estaban muy buenas. Ya no quisimos tomar ni postre ni café.
