We have stayed in a lot of different Paradors over many years and this time was the first that we had been disappointed.||It is a purpose built hotel on edge of town, right by the side of the motorway. There was plenty of outdoor parking, some of which provided shading from the sun.|We enjoyed the outdoor pool and sun terrace although there was a lot of noise from the motorway traffic.||As is usual at a Parador there were English speaking staff on reception and at the bar. However, there were none in restaurant which did cause some issues.||The whole hotel looks tired and is in need of at least some redecoration. This was the first time we had a room in a Parador without slippers and gowns. However, this proved to be the same at the other two Paradors in which we stayed so perhaps it has been stopped now. A shame as it was one of the little touches that stood Paradors apart from other hotels.||The bathroom was particularly tired and the shaving mirror incorrectly fitted so that it rotated left and right rather than up and down. This meant you had to bend down to use it.||We have enjoyed some great meals in the restaurants at Paradors, this was not one of them. Although, at dinner, the restaurant was less than half full the service was rushed, leading to mistakes. The waitress who seemed to be in charge seemed to create an air of tension amongst the other waitresses. ||I ordered turbot. When it arrived half of it was uncooked. My wife had a lamb shank which came with no vegetables nor an option to order any.||It was the same shambolic service at breakfast. The same person who was stressing staff at dinner was in charge with the same results. First, she brought coffee to the table, which we had not ordered. We wanted tea. Second, she took an order for a cooked breakfast from me but not my wife. As it happened, she did not want anything cooked but she should have at least been asked. some of the personnel has very good english, some not so good but they try and even if you need to make sure you were understood correctly - it is awesome in Spain huge bathroom with separate wc free wifi AC (with no smell) minibar room service (but no menu in the room) picnic breakfast that can be adjusted good coffee for breakfast (ordered not from the capsules) nice balcony (but common for two rooms with a divider between) cosmetics: soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, tissues, shower cap, comb decent hair dryer laundry is expensive but good and usually returned very fast
there is an issue with water temperature, the coldest and the hottest temperatures are not constant within a day and when you are unlucky, you will get hot and very hot water in your shower (like me on my first day here - I almost burnt my head with coldest setting) breakfast could be better: poor choice of bread and no fresh vegetables (zero!), a lot of sweets though cleaning products are so strong that I actually felt sick from inhaling it (I was in the room immidiately after cleaning) you will hear EVERYTHING from the hall (but only from the hall) so I recommend bringing earplugs location is not the best if you don't...
Read moreHemos parado hoy a comer. No he podido tener peor experiencia. Hemos pedido dos pistos con huevos, después de tener que esperar 50 minutos, me han traído dos pistos apelmazados el huevo por arriba completamente crudo y por debajo quemado, de color negro y las patatas crudas del todo por dentro y negras por fuera y chorreando grasa. Como no atendían las mesas y por temor a pasar 50 minutos más esperando, me he levantado y se lo he dicho a la camarera, para que trajeran otro plato que se puediera comer. Aparece de nuevo con otro plato en idénticas condiciones. O no vio el desastre de plato o no me escucho en absoluto, porque volvió a salir con otros dos platos en idénticas condiciones, incomibles. Pero además es que se veía sin probarlo. Con la particularidad de que estamos en verano y servir los huevos completamente crudos dudo mucho de que este dentro de los parámetros de salubridad. Me vuelvo a levantar porque según los trajo ahí los dejo en la mesa sin preguntar y sin mirar la comida que traia y se lo digo y me dice que es lo que hay y que si quiero me trae la cuenta de la botella de agua. Le digo que llevo más de una hora esperando y sin comer y cuando me voy a ir me dice que me calme y que me calle. Por supuesto me di la vuelta y pedí una hoja de reclamaciones. La responsable de cocina nos atendió fenomenal y con palabras muy amables y le invite a que viera los platos y si, nos dijo que lo sentía mucho, pero hechos son amores ni no buenas razones. Hemos tirado casi una hora y cuarto y sin comer y encima el trato de la camarera y la falta de la profesionalidad en la cocina.... sin palabras. Que esto te suceda en un bar de carretera esta igual de mal, que conste que nunca me ha sucedido, pero ¿en un parador? Ha sido vergonzoso todo, la espera, la bazofia de comida,la falta de interés y el trato. Otra mesa, después de estar media hora esperando y que nadie les atendiera se fueron también.
En relación a su respuesta, mis palabras no distan nada de lo ocurrido, ni por la tardanza, ni por el trato ni por la comida insalubre que sirvieron dos veces. No tengo oportunidad de demostrarlo ahora, pero una lástima no haber preguntado insuto a los comensales de saber que su respuesta iba a ser esta mentira, pero francamente, estaba convencida de que todos los Paradores eran serios, daban buen trato y servían comida y no bazofia. Se limitan a llamarme mentirosa cuando no es cierto y a repetir lo que yo ya escribo en mi reseña con respecto a la jefa de cocina. Fue cierto el mal trato de la camarera, su retraso de una hora y por su puesto la comida del todo insalubre que nos sirvieron, dos veces. Estaría bueno que nos hubieran hecho pagar esa basura que nos sirvieron, además de la hoja de reclamaciones que puse habría llamado al organismo oficial oportuno.
Vergüenza de trato, de comida y de tiempo perdido.
Y tengo las fotos del plato que me sirvieron dos veces, muchas ganas de que se pronuncie sanidad...
