Café Colonia — Restaurant in Mazarrón

Came for a drink as we were in the area. It was my birthday 03rd April, we ordered beer and glass of white wine and took a look at menu, l ordered the Lamb Pita, when it came it was ok..not much flavour...l only eat the meat filling as the Pita was soggy with the juice from the meat, no one came to table check? When we asked for the bill we explained why we had left the Pita..the waitress brought over the manager (we didnt ask for this to happen) we explined to her why we had left it..(l believe her name was Marie Carmen) her reply was " well you've eaten it l cant give you you're money back what am l supposed to do? " I tried to explain about the soggy Pita and we weren't looking for a refund, we were trying to just explain the situation...but she didnt want to listen, we didnt expect her to " do anything we were mearly pointing out that the Pita was soggy " she made a great fuss over this in full view of the cafe (it was full on the outside terrace) my husband went inside to pay and explined that she hadn't been very professional and we wearnt asking for money but the offer of a cup of coffee might have helped alleviate the situation, after he had said this to her she said "of course you can have coffee next time you come in " with that my husband explained there wouldn't be a next time!...customer service goes a long way, we feel we didnt get it on that day...so there won't be another day to rectify...

We luv this place and by the number of regulars so do many more folk. Evening views of the setting sun, the smell of lovely food and fantastic coffee, the baking of bread and the display of croissants and the like. A great place to simply watch the world go by or to have a get together with friends and fellow travellers. And the staff? Fantastic. Constant. We've been going here for years and hope that it long continues to do what it does so well....

New Café Lab premises.

As WITH ALL the Café Lab properties, the décor and concept is brilliant. The quality of the coffee is better than anywhere else in Spain that I have ever tried.

The ONLY downside for me is that the choice of beer is tiny bit lacking.

But, when you take that in comparison to the high quality of the coffees, cakes etc, it is nothing..

Café Lab is fabulous. Visit....
