We booked a table for 5 on the terrace of restaurant Concierto Sentido in Puerto de Mazarron by phone for yesterday evening 8.30 pm. We gave them our name and phone number. We arrived at 8.40 pm, had to wait a couple of minutes for the waiter tot acknowledge our existence but then told him about our reservation. Instead of showing us to our table, he showed us his phone. He told us we made the reservation for 8.30 pm and since it was now 8.45 pm unfortunately our table was no longer available. Instead we could eat at a table inside. For a second we thought the waiter was joking because he laughed as he told us this. But he was not. We reacted indignantly, because, after years of dining at many different restaurants in the vicinity of our home in Mazarrón, we were under the assumption, that a time of reservation is an estimated time of arrival at best, and no one in Spain is surprised/disappointed/rude when you arrive half an hour late, let alone 15 minutes. We had this talk, in Spanish, with our waiter, but he explained to us we assumed wrong. We don't like using the word "shock" in vain, but let's say this was a lot for us to take in. All irony aside, after explaining to the waiter that his behaviour was strange, incredible and rude, unfortunately we had to decide to take our business elsewhere. At Casa del Nono we received a warm welcome. In the future we, and all our friends in Mazarron who we have told and will tell this story to, will avoid this restaurant. For those who still think this is a restaurant worth a visit, a word of warning: be exactly on time. Our table had been reserved for other people at 9.30 pm. So we guess you have about an hour to dine at this restaurant, or as much time available before the people they like better...

You the owner/manager took us to a table. You explained the specials of the day. We placed our order.. The restaurant filled up really quickly all of a sudden & this is when the service went to pot! I have been a restaurant manager myself for many years & know the basics of bookings. They should be spaced out, in order for the waiting staff & chefs to provide constantly great products & service. You stated in your reply to my husbands review.. You don't :usually take non bookings" fine. You should have stuck to that. Saying "you were doing us a favour, letting us in" Sorry you're mistaken! The food; The garlic prawns were nice as was my husbands choice of anchovies. The two starters of the cubed steak, looked nice, but were tough as old boots!! The wait between courses was incredibly slow.. Mains were served, chicken great, bass lovely 3x monkfish oozing with blood, no one asked how our meal was.. When we caught the eye of your waiter. He didn't look at all surprised. All 3 monkfish were re-cooked!! Which should never have happened!! The fish were not eaten entirely, they were so greasy I certainly couldn't finish mine & showed you what was left on the plate. As for your comment to my husbands review "about prices" I can assure you, this isn't the case & we offered to pay in full, but you accepted responsibility & took the 3x monkfish off the bill.
