An interesting experience, and not in positive sense. The first time ever we walked out of a restaurant! Customer satisfaction is a concept unheard of in this establishment. It started fine … the restaurant looks quite nice and well decorated. But during the ordering process the lack of respect for customers became blatantly obvious. We opted for a set menu, which included choice of several main dishes. When we kindly asked whether one of the courses (a lamb dish) could be substituted by another lamb dish (also on the menu, exactly the same price) the bomb burst. “NO … not possible!” “How could we ask! There are thousands of people in Mazarron and imagine everybody would ask for substitutions!” Actually, the restaurant was (besides us) totally empty (prime time on a Sunday afternoon) … and it appears they make a concerted effort to keep it that way! 😬 After some more rambling from the waiter and checking with the kitchen, they agreed to the substitution. But as a matter of exception! And then we got lectured about our behaviour! “Listen to me first!” “Next time you come you better look at the menu first and understand what is on there!” What was the last straw for us was when the waiter said: “I am a waiter for 14 years and I never served people like you”! EXCUSE ME!!! Well, I tell you my friend .... in hundreds of Indian restaurants all over the world we have never had a waiter like you!
Good luck with your establishment! You...
Read moreAs regulars at the Sartaj we were very disappointed tonight. It was a cold evening and already feeling chilly, I didn't wish to sit near the door. We were told there was no space despite there being four tables of 4 available and not reserved. Poor customer service. We won't be going back in a hurry. Such a shame as previously I gave it a really good review. Still..lesson learned.
So there were 16 seats free. You expected 16 people to walk in on a very cold evening within the hour before any of the other diners left. Inexcusable. We will take our euros that we have spent twice a month with you (and twice within three days over the Christmas period) elsewhere. We found a great place just up the road. Great ambience, great menu and great...
Read moreI normally love this place but yesterday was a disgraceful experience. Basically got the food thrown at us and felt very unwelcome. We got 1 starter with the poppadoms before we got any condiments and this was about 2 minutes after ordering. How could you make fres lamb shish kebabs in 2 minutes??? Then when i was only half finished my starter the main course was presented to the table. I refused and sent it back. Soon later it came again and nann bread was dried out. As we wee finishing our wine at 15:50 we were asked to leave as they were closing, how rude. I normally defend this premises when others slate it, but today you have lost 2 allies....
