The Old Market Tavern — Restaurant in Mazarrón

Staying in Puerto de Mazarron for 3 nights and found the Market Tavern on G maps. Decided to go there tonight (21st December) to check out the fish, chips and mushy peas. Myself and my wife were A. totally blown away by the welcome from the team who were just about to close up after a hard day's graft, and B. Turns out that fish and chips at the Market Tavern would be be the best fish and chips we have ever had.. Weve have visited this place twice whilst stopping in pueto de mazarron and I've got to say it's the best food we've had so far here. They taste of the food, service and price can only be described as excellent....I agree with the other reviewer about the place being out of date but it should never be knocked 2 stars down just because the way it looks. Never judge a book by its cover and that's exactly right with this place it's a little Gem...

Visited with friends for Sunday lunch. The value for money is exceptional, 3 courses with a bottle of wine, only €1 extra for lamb. Price is not everything it is the standard of food for the money. I had prawn cocktail, roast beef, rhubarb crumble with custard & Ice cream with a bottle of rosè wine. Ceasar and his family provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Thank you for being dog friendly....
