Food At Asador Otola you get the best of best steaks in Europe ! The gentlemen with their knives and grills know their craft . Between the charcoal , the grill and the perfect choice of meat their steaks are outstanding while you slowly enjoy them with the potatoes with Alioli and the fresh grilled pimientos. The basque style sausages and mutton chops are brilliant! We could not stop eating the basque style chorizos with fresh baked bread. Even the fish was amazing ! Cooked also by a master fisherman chef ( who won the last years fishing competition a car as I heard) gave my wife the perfect basque style bacalao with green sauce. Cooked perfectly with garlic the taste is oozing water in anyone’s mouth.
Service A charming break from shallow “trained hospitality” in five star hotels and first class lounges , the owner Ben and his team are an extraordinary team of genuine people. They really mean the advices they give you , they make you feel like you are coming back to you grandpas home and your cousins are all suffocating with warm welcome. You feel their genuineness in suggestions , quick attention and even when they excuse to attend another table they make you feel home. Ben has really put a very good team who looks like a close knit family more than a boss and staff. Each one specialized in something masterful in one of the pieces of the resturant
Ambience Don’t get deceived by the humble outer look . The inside of the resturant gives an authentic Basque Countryside feel with actual farm equipments , saws , tools and Ben’s own family heirloom from basque. Authentic best! Look for a cow statue in front of the resturant when you pass by. The parking exclusive to customers is right after ten meters of the resturant in the smaller street road.

Read moreIf you like tasty meat at good price this place is for you but its the only positive thing about this place. Its extremely chaotic and disorganised and also loud. Service is really poor. Waiting staff only notices your table when plates are empty and then takes everything off even if you have something left on it or you still drinking…. We ordered one starter for one person then 2 mains and 2 deserts. Starter came after an hour from when we arrived,then one main came an hour from when starter arrived and another main half an hour from then… Im a vegetarian and was there to have birthday meal for my friend, my main - peppers stuffed with mushrooms came in a starter size ,there were 2 prices on the menu - for starter size and for main, waiter mustve misunderstood or didnt care that I asked (in fluent spanish) for it to be main. So I had tiny portion as my dinner… well those peppers were tasty but the sauce was horrible (very sweat tomato sauce) . Lemon tart is tasty too and all meats but we definitely wont be back as the whole experience...

Left stood waiting in a half empty restaurant as we were told wait here 5 minutes. whilst he and the other staff chatted to their friends and completely ignored us. after 10 minutes when we decided to walk out did the rude waiter try to follow us and shout us back saying: hey where are you going!! …you can have the table now!!..smirking. Which made us realize he just wanted to leave us stood in the restaurant on some weird power trip. We use to go to Otola a lot but last time we went our food was terrible, but we thought it was just one of… decided to give them another shot but this time we’ve never made it to the table.
