Quite honestly, the worst experience I’ve had to endure in a ‘restaurant’ (I use the term extremely loosely) for a very long time. We were a party of 19, booked well in advance for Sunday lunch at 1.30pm. We are all local residents, living in Mijas. Although we turned up on time and the restaurant was not hugely busy, we ended up getting food in dribs and drabs at or after 3.30pm….over two hours after we arrived. Lots of items on the menu were unavailable or in short supply, disappointing many in the party. One guest was forgotten completely and got her meal at 4.15pm when everyone else had finished. The food is poor quality. All items are bought in, pre-prepared and warmed up. There is nothing homemade. The beef from Sunday lunch is grey and looked like it had been cut under a microscope. Service was absolutely TERRIBLE. The two waiters are pleasant enough, but completely untrained in service. The head waiter is appalling, in his attitude and regard for customers. When we complained he argued back and blamed us for being a big party! On leaving, when I told him that we would never return, he even followed me out of the restaurant to argue some more. €40 per person for something that isn’t worth €10. Went here with friends recently. They knew it but first time for us. We went early (7.15pm) so was very quiet when we got there but more patrons were arriving after 8pm.

Has lots of covers so can imaging it has quite a buzz when full.

We ordered the fish & chips x2, beef stroganoff x2 and a beef steak skewer. All were lovely. The fish was quality and the batter on it was probably the best I’ve ever had - light, crispy and not a hint of greasiness. Really good. The Stroganoff when it arrived didn’t look to me like it would be that nice but those in our party who had it said it was delicious. Steak was tender and beautifully cooked.

We were having a very mixed experience at our hotel so decided to walk to this restaurant. We were glad we did. From the very moment we walked in the welcome was warm and friendly, the service was excellent too. Our food was brilliantly cooked, warm and very flavourful. Even the bill was a pleasant surprise - very reasonable. If you’re in the area it is definitely worth a visit. I only took a star off the atmosphere because we were there very early and there was only us and one other table but I’m sure when it’s busier, especially with the great service, the atmosphere would be excellent.
