Mixed Experience at Picador We had a pleasant evening at Picador, but unfortunately, the service left us somewhat disappointed. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and quickly served a delicious aperitif. For the first course, we enjoyed a glass of white wine that we had selected ourselves. We mentioned that we’d like to try a different wine with our main course. However, after the starter plates were cleared, we had to wait for the wine list, leaving us no time to choose a wine before the main course arrived. In a restaurant of this caliber, we expected the wine pairings to be more synchronized with the meal. When we finally placed our wine order, our food was already waiting on the table. To add to the disappointment, the waiter didn’t bring the wine we had selected from the menu but instead repeatedly recommended wines that were already open. This was not what we had hoped for. The service further faltered during dessert. We were not asked if we would like a dessert wine or a digestif. At the end of the evening, we wanted to share our feedback but were not asked how we enjoyed our experience. While the food was delicious, the service fell short of our expectations, leaving us with a mixed impression of Picador.

Live music by Alicia added a magical touch to our night, making it an experience we'll cherish. From the warm ambiance to the impeccable service, Picador offered an adventure in itself. Comenzamos con la ensaladilla de picantón con encurtidos caseros y huevo, está hecha con el propio picantón, pollo pequeño que vive en libertad y tiene un toque cítrico potenciado por los encurtidos que le va de maravilla 😍. Seguimos con croquetas de cecina y tuétano asado, un espectáculo sobre romero al fuego, todo maridado con un vino blanco, bastante afrutado: Ca N' Estruc. El brioche de calamares fritos, chucrutz y hojas frescas una grata sorpresa, nos encantó❤️. Los calamares con el contraste de las hojas frescas: albahaca, hierbabuena y cilantro, Junto a la ternura del brioche, son una delicia😍 Acompañado por un Cloe rose de la bodega de Doña Felisa de Ronda. El canelón de chivo una ricura, con una salsa de queso payoyo que potencia su sabor 😍 el canelón acompañado por otro vino de Ronda, la encina del inglés, un tinto con aromas a frutos rojos y pimienta☺️. Y el postre, ayins el postre, tarta de queso digna de concurso, una auténtica maravilla ❤️ Una tarta cremosa de queso azul y frambuesa y polvo de frambuesa con una base de chocolate blanco con fresa😍 buenísimo, además acompañado con un vino maestro moscatel dulce😊. Solo 2000 botellas anuales son producidas, recolectadas en sacos de no más de 15 kg y sacadas del territorio escarpado en el que se producen por mulos☺️ Terminamos con un delicioso margarita sherry❤️ En Picador tienen más de 90 referencias de vino en copa. 💵💵Buena relación calidad-precio. Muchas gracias por la invitación 😃. 👩🏽‍🍳👨🏽‍🍳Los camareros son grandes profesionales, gracias a Carlos, Jose y Juan Alberto por ponerle la sonrisa y la profesionalidad al servicio de Picador🙌 🍀Picador es el restaurante ubicado en el hotel la Zambra, abrió sus puertas en septiembre de 2022. 🎤Los jueves hay música en directo. Alicia tiene una voz muy dulce. 🎈Es cierto que Picador contagia su gracia, su picardía y sus ganas de brindar por la vida.

A stunning location, wonderful service and delicious food! Highly recommend. The service was great. We were greeting at the door, we were served quickly and everybody was very charming.

The food was great, well balanced flavors and my god, the bread and olive oil was to die for. I loved the purple carrot soup as well! We are aware that raw shrimp is a delicacy, although not our taste and so we’d have liked to know whether the seafood is raw in advance. The pescaitos were promised to be dusted with yuzu, but we could not taste the usually strong and unique citrus flavor. The tuna dish was excellent, although I’d except all seafood to be the freshest so close to the sea and at that price point.

The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning and beautifully designed, every single bit was well thought out, from the bar where you can watch chefs prepare food and drinks to the cozy bathrooms. Everything was pristine and cozy at the same time. Perhaps I’d recommend to get some sound insulators, for example under each table and chair, as the sound...
