Restaurant Mas Ferriol — Restaurant in Mont-ras

If you ever happen to be around la Costa Brava on a beautiful summer day, make sure not to stop at Mas Ferriol. And if, on top of that, there's a heatwave, do yourself a favor and choose one of the many incredible alternatives in the area such as Hotel Restaurante Mas del Sol, where you can not only enjoy great food but also relax by the pool without being met with the indifference of Mas Ferriol.

We arrived with a four-year-old child and asked the manager (and the owner) if we could use the pool. They refused even though the pool was empty and the request was minimal. We even offered to pay for access, but they wouldn't even consider it. To make matters worse, our dog was clearly suffering from heatstroke, and the bowl of water they provided was full, and I mean full, of mold.

As for the service, the manager could barely remember our orders and couldn't even find it in her to recommend a single wine from the many amazing local options (and there are plenty, check them out!); something one would expect from such a pricey establishment.

A family run hidden gem. They have been adding more spaces recently. My favorite part is the big table at the balcony (it has shade and its kind of private) or any table in the terrace under the trees. My least fav part is the new part in front of the restrooms. The food is great, the prices have gone up in the last years but a full meal with wine would cost approx 50€ pp. Foie and the salads are my favorite. We did find this place accidentally scootering around. It was late for lunch, but our passion to try the food in this lovely place was stronger and we did come back the same day for dinner. Almost all was very tasty (just one fish was too dry, the rest was perfect). Service was super good. Wine card is also made with love.
