This restaurant features the concept of a buffet (all you can eat) but served at your table and it includes basic alcoholic drinks in the price, which is about 35 dollars per person. Apart from the slow service, somewhat justified as main dishes (three paella choices from which you choose) are prepared to order, paellas are thought for two but you can stretch it to three if one of them is a child. It does not help that the concept of this restaurant is that servers know better than diners when the main dish should be ordered. We were short of time and that cause a bit of a chaos. The entree or fist course is an assortment of delicious high quality cold dishes (you get one of each) and you can reorder more of the same as well as more drinks as you please while you wait the mandatory 25 to 35 minutes that takes for the paella rice to cook over fragrant vine wood. I specially recommend the focaccia bread which is baked while you wait, (it takes a bit to arrive, and you end up eating the first course without it, (a capital sin in Spain). We ordered more bread to a gentleman server but we didn’t get it, apparently the man in question is not on speaking terms with the lady Maître / server that waited on our table. I can foresee diners in the future of this restaurant, to just have an iPad on the table from which to order first courses, drinks and bread while you wait, as they seemed to be short of servers. We were hungry and in hurried, and it was a blessing to find an unreserved table in a nice looking well refrigerated and elegant but not snobby restaurant. The restaurant has a free and ample / shaded parking lot. I highly recommend making a reservation and pre-order the focaccia bread. Final note: The "Holy cross de Caravaca Sanctuary" is just a short drive from the restaurant. If you go in 2023 you will get a "Plenary Indulgence" or "The Jubilee" upon visiting the sanctuary nearby, which will give you faster entrance in heaven when you die. While at the sanctuary, make sure to drop by their gift shop and get a box of “REINA” brand "Yemas de Santa Maria", an addictive concoction of candied egg yolks covered in rich chocolate made...
Read moreThe experience at Los Arroces de Segis in Murcia was fantastic! We made reservations online (you should! It was a Sunday and the place was packed). We should have received a call confirming the reservation but we didn’t. But they were very accommodating and sat us immediately. Our server was David, super nice guy, always with a smile in his face and very gentle and attentive. We speak Spanish, but I am sure English speakers will be treated the same. He even gave me an extra portion of some delicious almonds served as snacks. We ordered the lobster paella and a tinto de verano (sangria). In 2 we could not finish the food!...
