4.5 stars A full house on weekends so better call ahead to book a table. We enjoyed the salad very much. It was super fresh and the blend of flavors was delicious. The carne o caldeiro was good, too. One serving of it is, I'd say too much for one person. Well, we don't eat much. The pulpo was tasty — but being used to the pulpo a feira Pontevedra style, we found it a bit hard. Good thing the staff explained to us that they cook it that way in Carballiño. For them, the Pontevedra style is like "papas". If you aren't asked to choose the pimenton for your pulpo, you better specify your preference: picante (spicy) o no picante. Furthermore, we liked the ambience and even having 4 floors (all full when we went!), we weren't deafened by the noise of the people. It has a good acoustic unlike most restaurants that you leave stressed due to noise exposure.

Nice ambience! Friendly service! We ordered the Zamburinas (scallops) 15€ for 8 pieces, Polpo Grelha (grilled octopus) 15€ for 3 slices and Polpo Galician (Galician octupus). The Zamburinas were yummy. The sauce for the Octopus Grelha went very well with the crusty bread. The dish would have been a winner if the portion is larger; there were only three slices of grilled octopus in a creamy sauce. The Galician Octupus was a tad disappointing as it was quite ordinary. We rounded off the meal with a cup of mint tea and an American coffee.

Pagar la ración a 12€, de los precios más elevados del pueblo si no el que más, es de esperar recibir un producto de calidad y bien preparado. A continuación, se presentan unas croquetas que al romper el empanado se vertió todo su interior como un volcán en erupción. No tenían consistencia, de nuevo decepción. Llega el momento de las 'zamburiñas', tal como se indica en la carta. Se reciben unas volandeiras cuyo frío interior denota un reciente descongelado y mal cocinado. Al mismo tiempo, Florette hizo su aparición en una ensalada de salmón con queso de cabra con lechuga de bolsa, lascas de salmón de justa calidad, y al módico precio de 14€. El entrecot recibido posteriormente estaba bien de punto, pero escaso de sal, pero tras todo lo recibido anteriormente, se podría decir que cumple. Y para rematar la noche, llegan los postres. Tarta de queso con helado indica la carta. Recibimos la tarta con un charco de 'helado', como se puede ver en la foto que se adjunta. Se debería haber añadido una pajita, o bien, no servir un plato en ese estado. Tras todo esto, no puedo más que no recomendar la visita a este establecimiento, ya que por el precio que se paga se espera una calidad y servicio acorde, y no merece la pena de ninguna forma. Solo destacaría la amabilidad del camarero, claramente empañado por el resto del servicio. Nunca máis.

🔝💯Excellent menu with lots of octopus recipes from the home of the polbo (Pulpo). We had a delicious rice dish with octopus, a bit too salty but tasty all the same. Then we tried both octopus with chunks of the local potato and grilled octopus with potato puree, both delicious. The chocolate brownie and pistachio ice cream was good albeit the brownie could have been a bit softer. The oven baked chessecake with mencia ice cream was fantastic.

👌🔝Great service from Andrew in English too. Manuel is also a crack! The best was to come from Marta who explained about the history of the place. The building has been spectacularly transformed both its exterior and inside the decoration is modern and tastefully done. One of the sights worth visiting for its history as an emblematic eatery and its architecture....
