I was just here as a Pilgrim. The worst treatment ever!! We have been walking from the start of the Camino Norte to here now in 36 days. The entire WAY has been wonderful with nice people going out of their way to treat Pilgrims with kindness. Not here!
I stopped for a solo espresso. The man, and lady in the kitchen, explained that they only have Coffee of the house. I say okay. Please one coffee.
I stand and wait at the counter. Another pilgrim (on bici) enters and orders beer, meat pie, coffee. The man then completely ignored me and turned to him, got him ALL of his order, even asking him if he wanted wine...and I still waited. And waited. Another man came in asking for credential stamp, they talked over me to point to the table with the stamp. I waited. I asked again for my coffee. NOTHING!
I never left the order area. I made eye contact numerous times. They blatantly ignored me! Why?? Because I can not speak espanol fluently??? Please remember MANY different languages support you! You make money off of the Pilgrims passing by. Even those that only want a coffee!!!
Finally left feeling sad. And so disappointed!! So this is the Frances now?? Glad I completed the Camino Frances in 2018 and the Portuguese Caminho in 2019. I now know to stay away from this area. And I will spread the word. They don't care about serving a solo coffee!!
Obviously the CAMINO DID NOT PROVIDE HERE!!!
Oh by the way, just go on ahead 5 minutes to 'Restaurante A Cova da Meiga' and a WONDERFUL woman will gladly wait on you! With EXCELLENT coffee and foods! They serve with a smile. And the setting is clean...
Read moreThe restaurant naturally attracts many pilgrims with its ambience. Nevertheless, I had the feeling that pilgrims are not really welcome, since you could only use the toilet if you bought something - so no 0.50 cents or 1 € for using the toilet. So that's how I ended up having a beer at 10am which was cold and tasty. The toilet was ok but not particularly clean. Dealing with the pilgrims was also questionable, since I spoke to them in English and they answered me in Spanish. It was all a bit confusing and I hadn't even had a beer up to...

Coffee is ok but not the best on the Camíno as it's very bitter! Good pilgrim atmosphere. Pilgrims can buy a ticket to receive a special pen so they can leave a special, personal message behind...
