Restaurante Monte Naranco — Restaurant in Oviedo

Absolutely fantastic restaurant!! We just finished the Camino San Salvador on Mother's day and needed lunch close to our hotel, so we went here. We had a 4 course meal that consisted of a 2 pate appetizer, 1st courses of Fabada Astúrias for me and Langostinos for my wife. Both of which were so large I thought they were the meal! Then they brought our second course which were Cachopo and Lamb chops. They were so delicious and authentic to the region. Lastly we had our pick of 5 different desserts. We hardly had any room for these but they were so good. Included was a bottle of wine and Sidre-All for 50 euros. So we went back for lunch the next day. For 11 euros we only received 3 courses ( what a rip off 😂) with wine. Again delicious and so much food. We will return to Oviedo solely to come to...

Good food for a bar. But the service was really bad. The waiter was really serious and grumpy, and then a waitress arrived and was better than him but still grumpy and she didn't have much energy to work either. I was recommended this place by my hotel and I have been deceived. The cheesecake was the best I ever had. And when I wanted to leave a tip and the waitress said no don't because they don't receive it. I think management/owner need to respect more their staff so they give a good service. This is 2025 you need to find your priorities. P.S even taxi drivers said it's really bad service and told me not to go there. It's basically a bar de poligono para obreros....

This restaurant was at walking distance from my hotel. I grabbed a to go meal on my arrival, which I really liked, and a couple of days after an entrecote w fries . My third experience was very uncomfortable it was during lunchtime, and I went with a friend . The place was crowded noisy and very difficult to get a server , the one we finally had was annoyed by the fact that we were speaking English since I saw his frustration. I went ahead and decided to order what the person next to me did 🙃 despite the fact that I showed him he sent me a larger plate of that order ( deep-fried steak w/fries) the food was alright this time !!!
