If you are a fan of Woody Allen you need to have a photo with him in Oviedo! Woody Allen Statue appeared in Oviedo not suddenly. It was a present to the director and a sign of gratitude of citizens of Asturias. A life-size statue of Woody was inaugurated in 2005 after the famous film director dedicated compliments to the city of Oviedo upon receiving the Premio Príncipe de Asturias de las Artes. In the same year Allen came to Spain and reached an agreement to film his movie “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” in Avilés, Barcelona and Oviedo.

During a vacation in Bilbao, we felt it's the right choice to visit the statue of Woody ( whose movies we love).. its a well made statue and it's the closest I will meet Woody 😂 Not sure if the visit was worth it as the rest of the city didn't really impress me. Nonetheless the scenery between Bilbao and Oviedo was so beautiful!

Intriguing to find Woody Allen in the streets of Oviedo. The statue could use a bit of maintanence but neverthless captured Woody's essence and his trademark sad frowning face. Be sure to find that film Woody made for Oviedo!

Hecha en bronce y estilo hiperrealista, fue instalada en la céntrica calle de las Milicias Nacionales en 2003 a modo de homenaje al director, guionista y actor. Woody Allen es un enamorado de la ciudad, la ha visitado en varias ocasiones en sus vacaciones privadas por Europa.
