We spent the first night of our Camino 7 day trip in Casa Lucas. It is a simple small family guesthouse attached to a working farm. It is run by a lovely woman who could not have been kinder or more helpful. The rooms were spotlessly clean, each with its own bathroom. The beds were extemely comfortable. The evening meal was delicious, cooked by our hostess and served by her son who was also charming. Breakfast was also provided. A taxi was arranged the following morning to take us to OCebreiro 14km away, which was the official start of our Camino walk. This meant we passed by Fonfria just in time for lunch. The platter of cheese and cold cuts of meat, washed down with local wine was one of the culinary highlights of our 7 day trip. I cannot reccomend it...

As Pilgrims walking the Camino De Santiago we arrived cold and wet the day the stayed a Casa De Lucas. Our host who was the owner was very warm and friendly. She told us to come in sit down and get warm by the wood fired heater in the bar / reception area. She then escorted us to our beautifully appointed rooms and told us to relax and when we felt like it to come and check in. Our dinner was truly homemade, tasted wonderful, and again the owner was super friendly to us. She helped other pilgrims find rooms ahead as all of the rooms in this town were full. She went so far as to help one couple after dark and got them a ride to a place down the road.

Truly one of our best stops...

5 stars as a place to stop by and eat (I didn’t stay to sleep) 3 is average, so I have got a lot more than I expected. I was attended incredibly by Zerza, they serve a great menu and very complete at mid day, for only 10 euros. The bottle of local wine was 4,5 euros. I actually had a great experience, went there just to have something to eat, stayed the whole afternoon. If you are in the Camino, I recommend, definitely, to go have lunch. 2 extra stars than average because: personal attention home made like food you get your money worth they accept cards as...

Casa de Lucas in Fonfría was a delightful stop on my Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. This rural hotel is extremely cozy, offering a peaceful and quiet environment perfect for rest. Although the restaurant menu isn't extensive, the available options were excellent, including a hearty breakfast that was ideal for starting a day of walking. My spacious room featured a lovely view of the countryside, adding to the charm of my stay. In a village with few accommodations, Casa de Lucas stood out as a superb choice for both comfort and dining without needing to venture far.

Very cozy and lovely hotel/restaurant run by two kind ladies. I had a good rest here- it felt like home! Make sure to have dinner here - caldo gallego (galician chard & potato soup) was best i ever had and the potato chips and everything is homemade with love. I loved the fresh cheese with honey served for dessert 😍The rooms are warm, cozy and impeccably clean. I recommend staying here!!
