Ate here on Friday evening, 10th September 2021 having booked online for a table on the garden terrace. Both the hotel and the restaurant across the small square are dreamy, tucked away in a tiny, stone village between Pals and Begur. Both operations have been beautifully renovated with a modern twist without taking away from their charming exteriors. All the tables had been carefully and wisely separated, and the welcome was warm and unfussy as we were led to our table, offered an apératif immediately along with our menus and the wine list. There are three menus - a la carte and two dégustation options. There are also three choices of local rice dishes (minimum 2 persons). Admittedly, I was wary that the food would arrive with a lecture on what it was and how to eat it - but none of that kind of over-the-top fawning or grandiosity was in play. Just your food served as ordered and feel free to pour your own wine. Attentive, but not silly, the way my wife and I like it. The food is quite delicious, fresh, local and beautifully presented. Read moreWhat can I say about this exquisite restaurant? You enter and everyone welcomes you with a smile. You are gently guided through the menu and suggestions. Explainations are given when needed and for us foreigners... With patience sometimes. You can choose from an impressive wine menu with some really nice gems.
Than, the food...quality, tasteful, fresh, plates nicely dressed. We had the menu, that's 3 appetizers, 2 main courses(meat and fish) and a dessert. For all that yummy delicious stuff you only pay 58eur a person.
Although we had an issue with one main course( we really did not like the taste and texture) it was replaced with another one without any fuss and again with a smile. These are signs of a level of customer service rarely displayed.
I only took one picture because we were to busy enjoying the food🙂.
Do I have to say we'll come back? Nah,...

Everything was well thought out and executed:
Service was very attentive and knowledgeable. Much appreciated that they addapted the menue to our needs and preferences. Food was creative, tasty, and with great plating Ambiance was laid-back yet classical (given the historical nature of the building)
A few improvement points (could also be personal preferences):
the beef carpaccio was a little too faty, and the olive oil on top was not necessary. the grilled mushroom was a bit too smokey, and it overpowered the rest of the flavors the paella was a bit on the dry side for our taste and a bit oily.
We already booked for our next dinner in a few days! For us, it was one of the best dining experiences in...
