So what will this burger tell you about the restaurant 'El Mentidero'?

Well, if you ask me, there are two kinds of people who would want to start a restaurant business in Riano.

One will do it for the passion of cooking and serving food in a beautiful landscape. The other one will do it for the money, for greed. There will always be many tourists visiting Riano. Not for the food, but for the nature. The owner of El Mentidero knows that, and for that reason – and that reason only – they are serving this kind of food to hungry tourists who forgot to bring a lunchbox, such as myself.

I strongly advice you to not eat at this place. I mean, if they serve burgers with stickers on the tomatoes, can you imagine what else they are doing back there in...

Una vergüenza de trato. El nombre del sitio perfecto, eso sí. Unos mentirosos. Concretamente la que pone las bebidas, una maleducada. Llegamos a las 15:50h tras un par de horas de kayak, y nos indica que está cerrada la plancha. Cuando estamos viendo salir bocadillos de tortilla francesa y sandwiches a la plancha uno tras otro. Nos quedamos al menos a meter una bebida al cuerpo. La cual ni nos sirve, ni nos pregunta si al final tomamos algo... En fin... A las 16:10h entra una pareja joven del pueblo y encargan varios bocadillos de plancha y unasbebidas. Le pregunto si podemos tomar entonces lo mismo que ellos y me dice que no; que a ellos les sirve porque trabajan en el pueblo. Ole tu mala educación. Sobretodo en un sitio turístico, precioso y desde luego no por este bar. Somos de un pueblo de la zona y no se merece este...

We ate in here two nights in early July when staying in Riano and the food was delicious especially the hamburger, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere, compliments to the lady chef who worked hard all night so would definitely recommend if you are after some...
