La Perdiu Blanca — Restaurant in Ribes de Freser

Oh god. Sinfully delicious. This has my utmost recommendation, and what you get for 20 Euros is almost unfair. I can't possibly deserve such good food, and so much of it, for only 20 Euros.

The three-course meal started off with bread, tomato, and sausage. Simple. I followed it with the duck canalons, per another reviewer's suggestion. WOW. I WAS IN LOVE.

I thought the portions would be smaller since the price was so reasonable, so my second dish was rabbit with potatos and aioli. Hah. Just when I thought i was full, I could get even fuller. So much to eat. Aioli was perfect to tie everything together.

Please, spare me my life. I can't have more. I'm so done. But who cares, time for dessert! I tried to get the smallest dessert they had, so I ordered the fresh cheese and honey. What a way to finish. Simple and clean. The honey tasted like it still had wax comb in it. I made it 3/4 of the way through until I knew the fun couldn't last forever.

I found love tonight, and I ate it. Don't be shy, your tummy has been well-behaved and it needs to have a night...

What a joyful surprise! We came here following comments from people as a very good one, but it actually exceeded all our expectations. Not easy to park next to it (on weekends), but once you achieve that and you manage to get in the show starts: cosy mountain deco, feels like mum's place, not huge, but good enough to hold our gang easily (we were 10 people).

The menu is ok, but the very best is to choose one of the set menus (for 2,3 or 4 people). We chose the "menu degustació" (tasting menu) and was amazingly great, and even better considering the price 35€/person for foie, beef carpaccio, anxovies, cod salad, home typical fried potato with mushrooms sauce, mixed hams, foie caneloni, lamb, red prawns, dessert and wine (well known Rioja). A-MAIZING!!

Another hidden gem is the wine list: not huge either, but very good selection and, most important, at a very reasonable price (I even doubt if they do any business with the wines!).

Definitely a Must go!

A traditional restaurant with typical Catalan food and delicious local specialities, 5 minutes walk from the centre of Ribes. You can eat a la card or choose the set menu, everything is delicious, though the cannelloni, both the mushroom and the shrimp ones, are a must! The only suggestion is that if you are into your wine, you may want to avoid the house red ;) The service is excellent too, rapid and friendly. There's free parking on the left, just before the restaurant, or you can leave the car a bit further up on the side of the road.
