Jarana Gastrobar | Quesada — Restaurant in Rojales

Lovely garden to sit and eat, and watch/listen to Paula...but someone hasn't done their job, when the show is stopped by a neighbor!!! Disappointing... The waitress was very nice and came to take our drink order before we had received the wine menu.... The wine menu was on an iPad, so it took a while before we got it. Ordered a grill plate and it was very good, but not a vegetable... Didn't get any wine recommendation for the food we were going to eat.... It didn't come with any sauce, so it had to be ordered on the side, it wasn't on the menu, but they cost 3.70 Euros and there were maybe 4 tablespoons in it.... the pepper sauce was only half full, so 2 tablespoons... And then we have the fries, it's SO hard to fry them long enough for them to get crispy..... We let them know in advance, they fry them extra well... yet they come with half-drunk, slightly fried fries.... So they had to take them back... managed to fry them a little better, but no top notch.... they weren't homemade!! We were never asked if we wanted dessert, and we had to shout at the waiters to order more wine.... they were very slow to clear our plates. In the end, we just put the last ones in the back of the flower bed. On the menu we missed the choice of potatoes and vegetables....it was not possible to order any of this on the side, or extra....It was not there at all!! When it got dark they could have had some cozy lanterns on the table....The white LED light from the parasols doesn't create such a good atmosphere... It got very dark in the trees around, could have hung some cozy lights there. So for a gastrobar, this did not fit the description of what one can expect from a gastronomic experience, UNFORTUNATELY. You have a lot to go on....and we who waited for 2 months before we went there, when we thought the running-in period...

We had dinner at this restaurant, but unfortunately, the overall experience was quite average. At €35 per person, the food and service didn’t live up to the price.

I had the salmon as a main course, which was more raw than grilled, and the ribs were mediocre at best. For comparison, I’ve had much better ribs at Costillas Locas, at a much more reasonable price. The dessert was also just average.

Service matched the food: average. The staff were quite rigid and cold, and we got the impression that our presence was more of a bother than a welcome.

We stayed only inside the restaurant. They also have a terrace area where you can have a drink and listen to some music, but since we didn’t go there, I can’t give an opinion on that part.

Overall, it’s not a place I’d return to. The price is too high for the quality of both food...

Hade höga förväntningar på detta nyöppnade ställe! Höga ratings på google!! Om vi börjar med service. Vi hade bokat online 1 mån innan. När vi kom dit kändes det som att de inte hade kontroll och hittade en nödlösning. Beställde drinkar och starters som var helt ok. Tyvärr kom maten in före vinet som servitrisen verkade ha glömt bort och kom på när hon burit in starters. Sedan kom huvudrätten in. En lax och en entricote med patatasfritas. Tyvärr fanns det ingen plats på bordet då de glömt plocka bort disken från våra starters vilket blev problem. Huvudrätten var en besvikelse! För det första bankar man inte ut en 300 grsms entricote. Man grillar en entricote så att det mesta av fettet får smälta in och köttet tar smak. För det andra var det ingen värme på köttet! För det tredje var patatas fritas inte helt färdiga och alldeles mjuka.Samma sak med laxrätten. Kall lax och kallt ris. Att kalla sig för en Gastro restaurang när man inte lägger energi på att servera varm mat och ha ett snyggt upplägg på maten är att ta i för mycket! Under kvällen var det underhållning som var mycket bra med dansare med olika stilar. Flamenco, salsa med mera. De var toppenbra. Men restaurangen hade lätt kunnat sälja fler drinkar med mera om bara någon servitris hade kommit förbi vårt bord och frågat. Underhållningen varade i flera timmar men inte en enda gång kom de förbi och frågade om vi ville beställa mer eller om maten smakade bra. Går du hit så gör du det för drinkarna. Vill du äta "gastromat" så gå någon annanstans. Restaurangen är nyöppnad så de kanske har vissa inkörningsproblem. Förhoppningsvis blir det bättre med tiden och högre klass. Det som räddade vår kväll var underhållningen och drinkarna men maten var tyvärr en stor besvikelse. Med den härliga utemiljön och atmosfären så har denna restaurang alla möjligheter men man behöver höja servicenivån och nivån på maten flera steg om man ska våga kalla sig för "Gastrorestaurang" . Vi kommer våga prova igen om ett tag men då hoppas vi att nivån på mat och service har höjts avsevärt! Det är ändå otroligt roligt att någon öppnat en ny restaurang i...
