This is the second time I eat in this restaurant and both times the food was amazing and the service lovely! If there is one important thing I expect from good restaurants is consistency, and Can Cervera (initially called La Croqueta) never disappoints. Last time I visited was 3 years ago - my husband and I drove 3hours straight to have dinner specifically in this restaurant and came back home the same day (we went for the croquetas, it's a shame they don't offer more "croquetas" options anymore but the rest of the food is so great).Today's dinner was to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary, we had 2 starters to share (foie gras ravioli with mushroom cream sauce, and white prawn with garlic and parsley), my husband had the 36-hour slow cooked lamb that tasted absolutely amazing and I had the Cap de Creus octopus with parmentier and pimentón de la vera oil - all perfectly cooked! We then shared a dessert and let me just say that was the perfect way to end this perfect meal, a chocolate mousse with rosemary ice-cream and coarse salt and olive oil (I can't describe how delicious this dessert is). All products are local and perfectly cooked, and the staff is sooo lovely, the waiters are professional and friendly and the chef is the sweetest, he took time to check on us and share some stories about the meals we were having (something he also did 3 years ago). Such a lovely experience and tasty food. We'll recommend this place over and over and we'll come...
Read moreA nice place to have steak. We enjoyed our evening, the food, and especially the atmosphere. The steak comes with 3 types of salt on the side, as well as a little hot stone where one can further cook or warm up pieces of their meat (hadn't seen this before, but it was super handy!). There was a little surprise with the desert too!
However, we were a bit confused what was the cut of the meat (the information could have been lost in translation). The English menu said "fillet", but what we got had bits that were quite tough. We later saw online that there is a discrepancy between the menu in different languages, so we still don't quite understand what cut it was.
Lastly, about the service. While the majority of the time the service was ok, we actually almost left without even ordering at the beginning. When we came in we were confused if we needed to wait to be seated or find a seat ourselves, and after guessing the latter, we were very rudely told off and told to get back to the door until we were seated. If we exclude this, the rest of the evening was ok, although a bit tense.
Overall, I enjoyed the dinner here and hope the owners can use this feedback to make their restaurant...
Read moreWe are not sure if they changed the owner for this restaurant because it was very disappointing. The food lacked taste and the iberico pork was way over cooked. They serve olive oil prepackaged in plastic. The food lacked a lot of salt and they did not put any salt on the table. When we asked for salt they came out with a big salt grinder from the kitchen and asked where we wanted salt and took it back...🤣 Overall the experience was hilarious but when you had to overpay for the food it triggered you. I would unfortunately not recommend this. We felt fooled by the...
