Lots of things to talk about from our experience.. first off, the views were absolutely stunning. The restaurant is beautiful! The parking was slightly confusing. We followed the Barretes sign and the “P” sign to a parking lot, but this was at the very bottom — we had to walk up quite a bit of stairs. When we got to the top we noticed cars parked in a much closer area but have no idea how they got there.
There is no clear check in / hostess desk. We waited over 5 minutes to even be acknowledged and then finally seated.
Like I said, the location and restaurant is gorgeous and me and my group of girls went to take photos in the garden for about 5 minutes.
Our reservation was at 9PM and we didn’t get our order taken until I finally called over for help at 9:50PM.
On top of this, another friend had her dish switched out multiple times because of her allergy’s that had kept being forgotten.
Me and another girl ordered the sirloin— it was amazing! The other two had ordered the lobster pasta and it was quite bad. There was no acidity in the pasta (lemon) and the pasta was also not soft, quite hard and not good.
We told one worker of this and he said he would talk to his management. He then came back and said it was going to be taken off the bill and was very apologetic. A couple minutes later our server Debbie came over and with a tone told us that the pasta was made as it should have been and actually they were only taking off one. He then tried to justify that pasta in Spain is made like this - undercooked and hard * ????
Overall, it is a beautiful restaurant but due to the service and food I would...
Read moreI have two distinct impressions of this place... The ambiance, particularly the outdoor setting and the scenic views, is absolutely stunning! 😍 I'm thoroughly enchanted by the overall atmosphere. However, due to the weather conditions, we were seated indoors, and I must say, the interior design is quite intriguing, reminiscent of a castle chamber.
My greatest letdown was the food 😒 I ordered the lobster and tomato pasta, and the portion of meat compared to the amount of pasta was imbalanced. There were only two fried tomato slices, no pasta sauce, excessive oil, leaving the predominant taste in my mouth as pasta and oil. And shockingly, this dish cost 34€!!!
The staff here is exceptionally welcoming and the establishment is well-maintained 😌
I must mention that reaching this place was exceptionally challenging! The road leading to the establishment was a winding serpentine. If one car was ascending while another descended, one had to maneuver backward on this treacherous path, which was quite nerve-wracking 😵💫
I highly recommend making a reservation by phone since the website indicated no available tables, but we managed to secure one by calling the establishment directly.
I do recommend this place, mainly for its breathtaking landscape and the exquisite garden! If you have the opportunity to visit on a nice day, it will be...
Read moreThe food was amazing, and the restaurant has stunning views. The drive up there was very difficult. The road is very narrow and steep, so if you go, I recommend using a small car.
The service started off fine, but when we ordered iced tea instead of wine or cocktails, the server scoffed at us and seemed surprised we didn’t want any of the expensive drinks. That made us feel uncomfortable.
There were a lot of wasps around the other tables. To deal with them, the server put out some ham near our table, which only attracted more wasps to us. We were shocked by this, as the wasps kept disturbing us. Meanwhile, the other tables were given smoke to keep the wasps away, but we weren’t offered the same. Because of this, we left as soon as we finished our meal. (we were there for only an hour)
As I said the food was great and the views are amazing, but we were very disappointed with the service, as it felt like we weren’t welcome simply because we chose not to order...
