Chiringuito El Tabal — Restaurant in San Javier

Atmosphere and location is good, but prices are are a rip off!!! they said their price and menu is not available at the moment and will be printed 2 days later, this only after we paid a very expensive bill, which could perfectly be a trendy or higher end restaurant in the capital Madrid, and we were here only at a wooden "chiringuito" by the sea that took 30 minutes to serve us a first dish.

Especially because of their lack of transparency, I would have loved to rate it with cero stars.

The only menu written on the black and white board, were coming without prices so they wrote what they wanted in the bill.

The bill also was confusing because the same hamburguer with same name and description was priced 19 and 13 euros (later after complaining to them, they corrected it to 13). And wrote one extra beer that we haven't ordered. For starter, they asked what would we would have like to have, in a way that sounded it would be a free snack in the meantime while the food was coming. That's a lack of honesty and transparency as well!

I came here believing that the previous google pictures of the menus from other users were actually not expensive. To my surprise, is double or triple the price! (My bad for not asking from the beginning the price of each dish before ordering, to make sure that we will be charged exactly what it should be, but also their lack of honesty charging different prices for the same dish.... they kept the old ticket so that i couldn't take a picture of it).

I post my experience and the bill, and their available menu, so that no other user in Google get confused by this place! They would not clarify it either. Surprise will come at the end with the bill.

We were 4 people eating, and actually didn't eat that much. "Patatas con mejillones" were only chips (thin slice Matutano stlyle potato chips) with canned "mejillones" on top that cost 3 eur in the supermarket. This was really a ripped off especially offering it to us to believe as if it were free.

Note: We never asked for freebies nor discounts, but for a fair price and honest transparent treatment. Never threatened them with the Google review to get those, just told them they should be honest and not try to charge extra to new customers, saying that "printed menus are not available" or similar things like charging the same dish with 2 different prices (13 and 19 euros for the same hamburguer!), and that I will write what happened in Google so next customers could be aware of how this place is and be prepared (especially to be more careful and ask the owner for agreed prices!), in case this is normal practice on how they use to treat tourists, that a review in Google prevents so (my wish is that they stop thinking it is so easy to scam people). The waitress pushed me to pay quicly with my card before I could read the ticket, which I found not nice either. So all together my impression is that they do this in purpose, and i want people...

CHIRINGUITO EL TABAL (LA MANGA) 📍

Chiringuito situado en el kilómetro 4 de la Manga, con vistas al Mar Mediterráneo 🌊

Estás prácticamente en la arena, lo cual nos parece un lugar perfecto para tomar una cerveza y una marinera tras un baño 🍻

Nosotros decidimos probarlo para cenar y estos fueron nuestros platos:

-Ensalada de burrata 🥗 (15€) : Estaba rica, aunque la ración no nos pareció adecuada para que el plato costara 15€.

-Patatas teja con salsa brava 🍟🔥(7€): Las pedimos sabiendo que picaban, pero picaban demasiado. No pudimos casi terminarlas siendo amantes del picante.

-Calamar nacional a la plancha 🦑 (20€): Normal. El precio carísimo.

-Mejillones al vapor 🐚 (12€): Estaban buenos, y el producto se notaba que era fresco.

El detalle que no nos gusto, es que no pusieron ningún tipo de mantel. La mesa no estaba del todo limpia y no nos pareció lo más higiénico del mundo. 😅😅

En general, nos pareció excesivamente caro. El calamar era muy pequeño para valer 20€. Nos pasó lo mismo con la ensalada 💵💵

Servicio: 8/10 🏁 Decoración y ambiente: 5/10 Comida : 7/10 🏁 , ya que la relación calidad-precio no la vemos correcta.

Pesima experiencia, fui el año pasado y sali encantada he vuelto este año y no volvere a ir. Llame para reservar a las 14:00 para 2 personas, llegamos y nos sentamos, al traernos la carta nos quedamos sorprendida ya que la habian reducido pero hicimos nuestro pedido, al cabo de un par de minutos el camarero nos indica que no habia carne por lo que le indicamos que esperease a traernos el resto de cosas ya que teniamos que pensar que ibamos a comer. La jefa viene a nuestra mesa indignada porque les habiamos dicho que esperaran en traernos lo demas (unas patatas de bolsa con boquerones y unas sardinas) y nos dice que para tomar algo no podiamos estar sentadas que nos fuesemos a la barra, le comentamos que estamos pensando si al final decidimos si ibamos a comer y el que (ya que han reducido mucho la carta) y nos dice de malas maneras que nos teniamos que levantar de la mesa e irnos a la barra. La jefa es una impresentable, obviamente nos fuimos y no volveremos. Carta super reducida y no tienen todo, precios desorbitados y la jefa una...
