I went with Swidish Chefs and they LOVED IT!

I happened to have two Swedish friends and an American yoga teacher visiting for the week, and I asked around my network What was the best localy-sourced food experience.

Someone pointed at Foodies, and we headed there with no big expectations.

Wow! From the moment we started eating, we kept on looking at each other with pure amazement. The food was creative but simple, tasty but light. Many times we just went silent while enjoying a mouthful of a new dish.

We end up ordering twice, and we almost tasted everything in the menu.

And when it felt it couldn't get any better, we got deserts.. Best cake I've eaten in years.

The bill at the end was about 26€ each, including a bottle of Cava, a bottle of Wine and an amazing Local Beer called "La Maltista".

My Swedish friends left full of ideas for new dishes and truly grateful for the experience. I left full and happy to have discovered such a good restaurant so...

We recently visited Foodies restaurant in Valldoreix, Barcelona and had quite a disappointing experience. The waitress was rather rude when she informed us that a reservation was required. However, when we asked her passing colleague, he contradicted her, saying that there were available seats.

The food itself had good flavor and a good looking, but the prices were quite high considering that the dishes did not come with any accompaniments unless you paid extra for them. The desserts were nothing to write home about. In particular, their combination of passion fruit and chocolate in the "xocolata" didn't work...

First night in Catalonia. Just the best company from the local people!! So helpful and friendly. The translation on the food menu is just the best . . .you can have tiptoes, caramelised joints and some amazing other descriptions. Made to feel so welcome on a Sunday when we had just arrived. Raul is just the bestest. Can't thank these people enough. Marisa, a lady in for a wee drink with her pal Mireia gave us so much local information and her phone number to call her if we wanted any more info or to meet up for a drink. You couldn't ask for anything more...
