A Wine Lover's Paradise in the Heart of San Lorenzo
If you've ever wondered where an award-winning Michelin-starred restaurateur takes friends and family for lunch, the answer is Casa Lhasa.
This enchanting culinary gem, nestled in picturesque San Lorenzo, offers a relaxed, countrified atmosphere and an extensive menu featuring an irresistible fusion of Mediterranean, (potentially) African, and Lebanese-inspired dishes.
While there isn't dedicated parking, a convenient and free public "dustbowl" carpark can be found just behind the nearby church.
As you enter Casa Lhasa, the expansive terraced area welcomes you with its warm and eclectic mix of tables, chairs, fruit trees, sun umbrellas, and windowsills showcasing a vast array of organic wines from around the world.
The restaurant's interior is equally charming, boasting a room with three impressive ceiling-to-wall wine racks and another with a cozy bar and a few dining tables. This inviting ambiance sets the perfect stage for a leisurely lunch with friends or a romantic evening for two.
Casa Lhasa's mouthwatering menu offers a plethora of delectable options, making it a delightful challenge to settle on just one dish. The unique blend of cuisines - I’ve a suspicion many are old family secrets - will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on your taste buds.
For wine aficionados, Casa Lhasa is a dream come true. The extensive organic wine collection is simply mind-blowing, and their selection of Mezcals is equally impressive. However, it's worth noting that this is not a cocktail bar, but rather a haven for wine and spirits enthusiasts.
Although the restaurant experienced staffing shortages during our visit, the team's passion, knowledge, and dedication to providing an enjoyable experience shone through. The warm and friendly staff, especially Ben (5* to this man - and you won’t find that in any of my other reviews to date), went above and beyond to answer our questions and cater to our requests, ensuring a memorable dining experience.
Casa Lhasa attracts a diverse clientele, ranging from discerning locals to fortunate tourists and the upper echelons of global society. The value for money is outstanding, and you'll likely leave feeling satisfied even if the bill were 50% more. The overall charm and exquisite cuisine make it easy to appreciate the staff's hard work and dedication.
Casa Lhasa is an absolute must-visit for a unique and unforgettable dining experience in San Lorenzo. With its phenomenal wine selection, delightful menu, and idyllic countryside setting, this restaurant is perfect for any occasion. Embrace the leisurely pace, and let Casa Lhasa transport you to a world of...
Read moreCasa lhasa is the place where you'd take your cool friends! It doesn't not suffer from the self importance and and stuck-up atitude that is widespread across many restaurants on the island. Every dish is honest, they promise you food from the land and that's what is delivered, delicious simplicity and some fortuitous surprises amidst the shareable small plates that composes the menu. With that said, the protagonist is undoubtedly their wine list, Casa Lhasa is a wine bar, and a very good one for that matter. Their natural wine list is impressive and well priced. If is good vibes and poise is what you're looking for in a restaurant you've found your place. A huge respect for the person who put together the playlist, it coverted a good dinner into an...
Read moreThe place is hugely overpriced. Half an aubergine with some tomato and parsley 19€, few roasted carrots 14€, as if we were in Mayfair! Ridiculous small portion for the price. Quality is okish.
The person attending us did not know any dish of the menu. It took ages to order as he kept on going back and forth to ask the kitchen about the ingredient and the preparation. At this price levels, they should do way better.
Wine offering and sommelier are good
The terrace is cute but feels almost abandoned, cannot be compared with Paloma next door
In essence you pay silly money to be advised for some PetNat...
