I don’t like to leave bad reviews but I need to. We arrived after pre paying for a front line bed by the pool. We were told we had 2 options…a bed fully in the sun with no umbrella (as it had broken) and one bed fully in the shade (static umbrella). We also had no table. This is a €120 each bed by the way!! We are residents and have been to plenty of amazing places for prices like this.
The manager seated us and left without giving us any menus or taking our drink order. 30 minutes it took and we had to ask for a menu. Awful service and we were sat right next to the service bar where the staff were backwards and forwards to. Our drinks were taken and took 20 minutes to arrive, fine, we can handle that but it was a beer and water. Not once throughout our 4 hours there were we asked if we would like anything. We purchased cocktails at €20 each which tasted just of water. The waitress did change it, and it was a huge improvement but why not serve that in the first place when charging such a lot of money?
The food tasted great, portions were quite small but again I can cope with that for quality.
We decided to leave early as the service really wasn’t up to scratch and I didn’t enjoy it. I asked for the bill and 20 minutes later it never arrived so I had to go up and ask. He said the bill was at the bar? So I said I’d like to pay.
He pointed to the final bill amount and asked if I could leave a tip, and just before I could speak said “we work so hard” to which I replied “this comes from a good place but I am really disappointed with my experience here”….i went on to try and explain why and he just laughed in my face because he knew he wasn’t getting a tip. So I politely told him “I’m just trying to give you some advice and feedback from my experience…” and went on to again explain to which he impolitely interrupted me and said “don’t worry”.
That is NOT how a manager should be treating a paying customer who has had a bad experience. I never asked for any money back I just wanted to be honest. I paid my bill and left as it just left a really sour taste in my mouth and his ego was In the way. He should have taken it as constructive feedback!!
I will never return to this venue, there are way better places on the island. And what a shame as it’s in a beautiful spot. We know a lot of people, so they’ve shot themselves in the foot with how they handled it as word of mouth...
Read moreEl Silencio: a pool experience with great food, attentive staff and a superb location turned into a kids playground.
We booked a pool bed (according to the website: max 2 persons, €80) for the day. Until 13h we had a great time: the location and pool are very nice, the staff is attentive and super friendly, and the atmosphere very Ibiza like with a chill vibe. A dream!
Then, a Spanish group of 6 adults and 6 kids arrived (on one bed - what happened to the max 2 persons?) and the place turned into a playground. Screaming kids, running around the pool, splashing on the beds, enjoying themselves with floaties in the pool, etc. All other paying guests were watching in surprise, and when asking the staff what was going on the answer was “they were also surprised but yes this is allowed”.
Now, of course, if you want to position yourself as a family destination or as a kids aquapark this is more than fine. But then mention this clearly on your site, and don’t charge €80 for a bed - which is in line with destinations like Nikki Beach and Destino, where kids are very explicitly not allowed. Sorry, but you can’t serve a €79 tuna tartar with caviar to then have it splashed by a 5-year old with a swimming noodle.
All in all, very mixed feelings - this place has huge potential, but really needs to make a choice. Either become the next classy (adults only) Ibiza destination with a relaxed chill-out vibe for the day, serving excellent food for Ibiza prices - or become an accessible, low profile family and kids friendly community pool.
Until that decision is taken, if you are looking for an Ibiza vibe without screaming kids, avoid this place and spend your money in other places. Not a lot of...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of eating at El Silencio Ibiza, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The beef tenderloin with a truffle purée was pure divinity – every bite melted in my mouth and was bursting with rich, earthy flavors. It’s easily one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time.
For cocktail enthusiasts, the Bloody Mary at El Silencio is a must-try. After countless attempts to find a good one on the island, I finally struck gold here. It was perfectly balanced and seasoned, making it an instant favorite.
The lobster tagliatelle was another highlight of the day. Initially, it was a bit too salty for my friend taste, but as soon as Romain, the new manager, noticed, he immediately offered to replace it with a new plate. The second serving was perfect, showcasing the delicate flavors of the lobster against the silky pasta.
The recent management change has clearly made a significant difference. Romain's arrival has brought a noticeable improvement in both service and attention to detail. He ensures every guest feels valued and well-cared for, which truly elevates the dining experience.
If you’re looking for a laid-back, niche spot with easygoing music and a beautiful small blue water beach, I highly recommend El Silencio Ibiza. It’s a gem on the island, offering a serene escape with top-notch food...
