As someone who had dined at Amalur before the renovations, I was eager to see how the restaurant had evolved since my last visit. Stepping into the space, I was immediately struck by the changes - the decor was more youthful and vibrant, with louder music and a livelier atmosphere than before. Now, after the renovations, Amalur has taken on a more youthful focus, with louder music and a livelier atmosphere. While this change may not appeal to everyone, as was the case with some of my family, it does add a certain vibrancy to the restaurant that is hard to ignore. Adding onto the decoration, I was immediately drawn to the Renaissance mural that graced the walls of the dining room. The carefully curated collection of artwork added a touch of mystery and allure to the ambiance, I quite liked the hanging Pinocchio which serves as a reminder to keep an open mind and indulge in the unexpected. The mirror hippo is also a growing piece in the art world that fit its placement. Regardless of the ambiance, the food at Amalur was consistently outstanding. The Tartare de Solomillo was a standout dish, with tender beef and bold spices that left a lasting impression. I also tried the Fried zucchini flowers which were good. The Parmesan Tortello with White Truffle was equally impressive, with delicate flavors and expertly cooked pasta. Finally, the Srinata a las hierbas aromaticas was a revelation, with warm beef infused with a medley of herbs and spices that created a complex and flavorful dish. While the ambiance at Amalur has evolved over time, the excellence of the food keeps growing. Whether you prefer a more traditional or youthful ambiance, Amalur is a culinary destination that is not to be missed. Review for July ‘22

The whole experience can be summarized with it’s Espresso Martini: overpriced but ok. This is the second time that I have been here and unfortunately it is still the same. Maybe even worse the second time round. Service starts off great but then gradually worsens throughout the night. We had to pour our own glasses most of the evening which is absolutely fine, but then just leave the bottles at the table. There is plenty of severs floating around, yet you have to grab their attention. Food portions are small. Last time, my octopus was overcooked and when I sent it back, I waited 30 min for a new dish. This time round, I opted for the sea bass - pretty ok if the tiny plate with undercooked potatoes wouldn’t cost 35€. The pasta dishes were delicious but also tiny. The asparagus with poached egg was really lovely. The restaurant itself is beautiful - a real highlight, the music a tad too loud. What I can recommend is the salted pistachio ice cream - absolutely delicious!

Such a beautiful setting and atmosphere ruined by low and disappointing service. I’ve been served a dish containing garlic, the waiter didn’t even know it contains…Where in the world you make vitello tonnato with garlic?!? And how you recognise after that it has garlic to a garlic-intolerant client (who mentions for every dish ‘no garlic please when ordering the food) and bring it back without the tonnato sauce?!? And wait after explaining the I can’t eat a dish containing garlic and then a vittello without the tonnato, guess what! The dish is on the bill!! Very good job, chef! Great job, waiter! Now you lost another client, and Amalut doesn’t look like having plenty lately…Something changed from last year! In bad! Forgot to mention I have never seen so many mosquitos in one place and so much staff running back and forward all evening!

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the hospitality and unprofessional client care we experienced during our recent visit to your establishment. The level of service was shockingly poor, and the management displayed a lack of professionalism that was truly appalling.

We were a party of eight, including children, and had made a reservation specifying the presence of children. Despite this, the restaurant was clearly not child-friendly. We ordered everything off the menu multiple times, and while the food was decent, the service we received overshadowed any positive aspects of our meal.

Just before dessert, a staff member approached our table—despite it being relatively quiet—and instructed our children to be silent because another table had complained. This was deeply disrespectful. It is unreasonable to expect quiet from any group of eight, especially when children are involved. Our children were absolute superstars, and it was disheartening to see them treated so poorly.

To make matters worse, throughout our meal, the staff seemed more focused on a photoshoot happening the entire evening in the restaurant than on attending to guests. We even had to request water to be brought to our table, as it was not offered proactively.

Ultimately, we cancelled our desserts and decided to leave. When I confronted the management about our experience, I was told that the tables outside, where we were seated, had not complained.

In contrast to our many visits to Michelin-starred restaurants, where our children are always treated with respect and care, your establishment's behavior was disappointing. None of the staff greeted our children upon arrival, which set a negative tone for the entire evening.

It is a shame that what could have been an enjoyable dining experience was ruined by such poor service and lack of hospitality. We will not be returning, and we will share this via...

We ate in Amalur 31 December for lunch. We booked a table for 11 people at 1500. At 1700 a member of staff threw the bill on our table and announced they are closing and we must leave. We asked if we could have a coffee or desert and they told us no, we must leave. We are not tourists, both families have lived on the island for over 20 years. We are regulars at many restaurants. However in the 20 years we have lived on the island both families agree we have never experienced such bad behavior. The staff did not care they just wanted us to leave and they made it clear. I am writing this review as we felt ripped off that day. The restaurant behaved in a way that would not be tolerated any where else. They may have had a wonderful season but to throw us out in such an undignified manner was both surprising and very sad. We will definitely not be eating in Amalur again or recommending the restaurant to any of our friends or clients. I own villas and a hotel on the island. I will definitely not be recommending this restaurant again. The depressing fact here, is they probably do not care. However, I think this attitude is appalling and very depressing. Ibiza maybe at the top of its game today but we will not always be there, especially if establishments such as Amalur behave with such arrogance. I repeat , we are not tourists, we are two well established families who expect much better, especially after we have paid over 1000 euros for a...
