“I’ve been every weekend for the last five weeks” - after hearing that I, of course, had to go find out what all the fuss was about - and I am so pleased I did!
WOW Ibiza, located on the road between the southern Santa Gertrudis roundabout and San Rafael, is a magnet for culinary enthusiasts. Its popularity, especially for the Sunday roast, is evidenced by the presence of a parking attendant—a nod to the buzz surrounding the establishment.
Fashioned by Nelleke Strijkers, a maestro in design, WOW Ibiza impressively transforms a once nondescript event hall into an architectural gem, nestled against a forest backdrop. Guests are greeted by imposing grey stairs (and an accessible ramp), leading into a harmonious blend of design and gastronomy.
The main interior evokes a botanical garden, with each area meticulously curated. The venue includes a boutique fashion shop, a children's club area, a dining room, and a sprawling minimalist garden, making the discovery of one's table an exciting part of the experience. The setting is complemented by a well-stocked bar, a substantial kitchen, and a DJ booth (with an extensive sound system throughout the venue)
At the culinary helm is Executive Chef and Ibicenca Cristina Dueñas, whose prowess is evident in every dish. Her Mac 'n' Cheese has been, on a previous dining occasion earlier in the year, acclaimed as “the best” by discerning American diners!
However, I was here to discover what all the fuss was about as it seems the whole island is talking about “The Sunday Roast”
WOW's menu, both seasonal and event-focused, offers an ever-evolving array of choices. The Sunday Roast, offered this winter, particularly the "flat iron steak" roast beef, stands out with its perfectly cooked accompaniments. The introductory garlic bread is a delightful prelude to the main course.
Service at WOW is exemplary, with sommelier Max elevating the dining experience with his wine expertise. The ambiance is further enhanced by DJs like Scott Gray (Melon Bomb), Jo Mills, and local legend Paul Powell, who perfectly capture the venue's vibe.
While WOW Ibiza offers a multisensory journey where fashion, design, and culinary mastery unite, it's noteworthy that, despite the staggering quality, there is a glaring absence of vegan options. Given the clientele WOW attracts, this oversight is significant, but one hopes it will be addressed soon.
WOW Ibiza isn't just a dining spot; it's a destination where culinary artistry, visionary design, and exceptional service converge. Cristina Dueñas' culinary magic, alongside Strijkers' design prowess, makes WOW Ibiza an essential visit for those seeking superior Sunday experience. At this rate, I’ll be the next person who chimes in with “I’ve been every weekend for the last...

Living for 10 years in Ibiza, I can honesty say that in general the restaurants are mediocre. Sure there are the well known restaurant aka entertainment palaces with so so kitchens. Only a hand full bring inspiring food. Food that make you close your eyes and gives you sheer happiness with every bite.
Walking into wow, reminded me of my first visit to the Lio, many years ago. A very pleasant atmosphere, great decorations, lovely staff, positive energy.
The menu is small, like that, I ordered 3 entrees for the four of us, all to share. Chicken leg / wings, asparagus and coquilles st jacques. Just imagine how you normally get it served ... well not here!
The chicken came with a white cream and horseradish. Thought long about it, yes the best ever. The asperges came in a salad, nothing dull here, beautifull. The coquilles, not sour or oily as usual elsewhere, just perfect.
Two main dishes, solomio de cerdo and chicken breast. Normally you don't want to order this because a. dry b. tasteless.
The pig was to die for, amazing, wow, love it. The chickenbreast, tender and tastefull.
Finally we shared only one browny with homemade ice and scraped pistachio nuts ....
Had my Remi Martin and expresso, spotted the chef and ad a nice chat.
The chef is a youngster by the name of Diago. What a hero! No doubt in my mind that he will receive a Michelin star sooner then later.
All this with some beers and a bottle of...
Read moreWow A unique experience, a true “wow”! An unexpected world of zen. You enter into a stunning garden and for a few seconds, your mind plays a trick with you. Am I in a club, a place to practice yoga or mindfulness? Am I in a jungle? You are definitely in a club but so zen and peaceful (great club house music by the way) that you want to stay and never leave. Food is amazing, fresh, and with the mission of “less is more”. Cocktails beyond the ordinary that you find everywhere. Wine is amazing (we had an excellent rose). Wow and staff know and understand how to treat their guests and how to make them feel at home. Wow is not at the beach, and that is wonderful for a good change of scenery. A hide away place from Ibiza city and all other well known places, a place to discover. Hip, trendy, peaceful. Everybody is welcome here. I have seen hippies, the very rich, families, couples, children and even a dog. Plenty of parking space (also not unimportant). I have mixed feelings writing this because what if everybody starts to know Wow. Will it be as great and will I have a space there 😁. Go go go! You will not be...
